HL2 is just another shooter.
Like Doom 3 was just another shooter.
Everyone is gonna complete it and that's it.

The mods for HL2 is what people are really looking forward to they just don't realize it.
There is nothing special about single player. Once you played it once it's over.

HL1 was good, but it was just a shooter like all the others.
People completed it, it got some awards, and forgot about it.
And the mods made it successful.

Oh and like I said many times before I'm looking forward to HL2's single player the most. Not CS: Source, not the mods, not the graphics, etc. The single player!

Yeah well, i can tell all of you who have already bought half-life 2 and are now anticipating its release, that you will be sadly dissapointed. "And Why is that?"' some of you might be asking, well the good folks at valve hasn't been doing anything but making photoshoped pictures and nice movies with 3dmax, granted there was a leak of a game, but what game?

The game was the dev version of halflife 2, but that was the final version before valve desided to can the entire project, convert it to "another version of counter strike" spread rumours on boards, release nice videos, whilst at the same time getting you all to pay for their game allowing them to live in luxery. 50$ for the "smallest" version on steam is not alot but lets just say that 1 million people will be buying the small version thats already 50 million and i KNOW it will probally be more than 1 million people, because Counter-Strike is BIG in asia so lets say 2 million and alot of you are going to get the gold version, and have already gotten your 'crapchendise' so lets just say 100million $$ to be fair, then i haven't overexagerated myself, and the staff of valve will have enough money to retire, and gabe can go back to his island in the south caribbean.

But theres a problem with this theory! yes the gonegold message and the nov the 16th release date AND AND the preloads! well... the preloads are encrypted at a very high encryption possibly 128bit or even 256bit and what kind of encryption method was used? noone knows as theres about 200 different method and 1000 different algorithms for the various methods, so the combinations are endless, the preload could be the exact same thing as what has been found all other places around the net: "lesbian or gay pron" or maybe Gabe in a bikini with a sign saying YOUR THE GOOSE! x1000 *sigh!* just because he was teased as a child.

Now we come to the release date Valve has plenty of times before proved to us that they are everyone suffering from the well known "Von Munchausen Syndrome" or in laymans terms "Chronic Liars" so when we finally approach nov the 16th around nov the 14th a new story will come out VU GAMES IS HOLDING BACK HALF-LIFE 2 DUE TO SUIT. And the gaming community will go "what the fuck? gabe?" then gabe will come out and say well vu games has decided bla bla, and convince you all that Valve is in fact the suppresed party here and vu games is the evil empire, while in fact Gabe Newell is lissted on the board of the Vu Games!. WTF!.

Then theres the thing about all the media stories and how "The pinãta has been broken!!" oh yeah theres that, well that story is old very old its from 1998 to be exact, not true you say?
well why dont i let gamespot explain that for me? this is a link posted on the GOLD! topic on the frontpage of hlfallout 'which is the place where gabe lets comments and such come out to the community'
http://www.gamespot.com/features/halflife_final/part52.html
you will notice here that it does not say Half-Life 2 but it says Half-Life, so what you all have been experiencing here is a rerelease party of Half-Life 1 not 2, and there will never be a Half-Life 2 or as my good friend gabe would have put it YOUR THE GOOSE!!
//edited to be easier to read, its early in the morning here //
ALl of the above is pure fiction of course, its just for fun....like Half-Life 2

About the pinata has been broken thing. Yeah it has been broken from what we've heard but they don't have any pictures of it. They just showed (and have said) the picture from the first HL to show what it was like before. Obvious that it was an old picture if you didn't know because Gabe isn't as big as he is now Laughing

The problem with valve is they dont say shit directly, they like to keep people guessing, and rarely give a press release about anything.

Their forums are even worse, the only time a forum admin or valve person will respond is if you 1, outright insult valve, or 2, ask something that has almost nothing to do with any of their games. If you want real info from them your SOL cause they dont give a shit to explain anything to their customers. I find that the best companies, the ones that continually make good games, are the ones where the company is involved in their fan-base, they actively participate on their forums and LISTEN to their fans, and sadly Valve doesnt do any of that.

Well with reviews for HL2 they're so far 2 for 2. I think they know want their fans want but they don't want to give too much away. That's why we haven't seen so much of the game. Just bits and pieces.

Yeah well I think valve creates the type of game they want, without input from the community. Thats not all bad, but sooner or later they are going to run out of ideas, and will they still have a fan-base to support them then?

But its not all about ideas and gameplay changes, its the fact that they continously ignore the community, they dont make any attempt to communicate with them directly. Go to WoW forum and you will see posts by Blizz dev's in all the really important threads, go to Bioware forums and you will see an even more prominent force of dev's that actively participate and talk to their fans. They are willing to discuss serious game flaws with their customers and what they can do to try and fix them.

Then go to a "built in wall hack" thread on CS forums and you dont see a valve employee post anything about whats being done to remove a built in cheat that essentially ruins the entire gameplay. Oh they are willing to discuss other issues, like why you arnt getting water reflections because your card isnt DX9, or how much money you need to give them for which packages, but when you bring up the problems plauging the game they give you the classic "we are working on that". Its a pretty big issue, amoung others, and Valve just doesnt care to tell anyone whats being done to solve the problem even though we (well some of us) have already forked over $50 and more to them.

They will fix the wallhacks, and other bugs, but they take so long to get around to things, and their priorities are all wrong, but they wont listen to a damn word anyone has to say about it. They are more interested in fixing a bug that makes 56k users crash every now and then rather then a built in cheat. The wall-hacking commands have been in since beta, and they decided to charge people for the game without fixing it, amoung other server exploits that you can use via console.
Oh and Reviews hold no merit, esp. magazine reviews.

talk about people contradicting themselves. your saying that people who like hl2 are fan boys and will compare every game forever to it, and ur also saying we will forget it now. and what do u mean single player is a one off thing? if the jumping is good then ill have tons of fun on it. im very bored of source now sounds arent as important and jumping is shit and teamwork etc, but o well thats a dif matter.

Hardly anyone who has played HL has forgot the singleplayer, it's mentioned all the time. People are still guessing the role of the G-man.

I'm sure HL2 singleplayer will be remembered in the same way. I'm also looking forward to the singleplayer more then the multiplayer but the mods that people can create with the new engine have the potential to be amazing, if HL1 is anything to go by. Just the physics alone create endless possibilities.

Hopefully someone will create a specialists mod for HL2.

Well it's a little thing I like to call logic. Based on past releases of other vivendi games, I would reason that this game is not going to be released before it's out in the shops.

You can't know anything for definite. You expect the sun to rise tomorrow morning based on past experiences, but that doesn't mean it's definitely going to happen.

Logic, maybe you should look it up some time, you might like it.

It's just updating CS:Source and needs some files from the hl2 game files.

Hi all,

Some 'news' for all the HL2 junkies, the game will be released half Nov.
Excellent marketing I would say of Valve, just in time for the big xmas sales. Well than they are at least good in one thing.

The game is heavily scripted, great game doesn't mean only good graphics.
Wonder if it will be worth the playtime Smile Anyway we'll know it soon if it is a bushy game or not Smile
