nothing new as far as I know. last thing I heard about it was that it was most likely going to be released "this week" only that "this week" was like 2 or 3 weeks ago.

they should really get that patch out before christmas so all the happy kids can have happy gaming sessions when they find the game under the christmas tree.

well i cant even play this, p4 3gig, 2gig ram, hd2600 ati, should be able to play on low settings but when i try to boot up the game it takes 170,000 memory and the boot up screens are slideshows (ea, crytek, shitty nvidia and intel adverts) and when i get to main menu the cursor is fine but all clicks are lagging like a bitch. i dont think its graphics related it is just killing my ram ?!
Its drivers installation problem most likelly.

yeah must be a driver problem or something.

runs fine on low on my laptop without any problems like that on my mobility radeon x700 with 128mb and 1gb ram so it really can't be your hardware.

If it runs shitty stop torturing yourself lol. Wait for the patch, I'm sure it will hit the net with a bang even your grandmah will hear. Ofcource then you will have to wait for a crack, but maybe it wont be needed, because the executable in FarCry was never updated; the engine is simmilar so no new cracking will be needed.
Also try using the unneeded process disabler which I think was posted somewhere in this thread and it gave me performance boost. I cant find it in my hd so I cant post it now.

It wont be perfect ever. Too much stuff involved. I was really surprised to see the same bug of dropped gun infinitive sound loop like in Far Cry. It was really strange. Seems they did not fix it over the years.

Frickin awesome game.
Was expecting a piece of crap strapped around some eye candy like the last one, but they actually made a good game with it this time!

Yeah, its a great game IMO. Really can't see no matter how many reasons people give how you can't like this game.

what the heck? i was using the old 169.09 beta drivers... about 30 minutes ago i did the crysis gpu benchmark... i got an average of 42.5325 fps over 4 loops

install the latest 169.21 drivers... now i have an average of 41.4875 over 4 loops, with my min fps having been 12ish with the 169.09, which has now dropped to 6 with the 169.21.

ill run the test through again to make sure, but i was under the impression that newer drivers increased performance, not decrease...

looks like if i want better crysis performance, the only hope rests with crytek, NOT nvidia... oh fuck, im doomed...

Well, of course you want it from Crytek, it's the engine that is unoptimized, not the drivers. And weren't those drivers supposed to be for Crysis specifically? Laughing

have i mentioned lately how much i really dislike crytek... the witcher guys managed to get out 2 awesome patches in the time its taken crytek to do... well... fuck all, really... i suppose i know whats coming... when im dead, ill end up having to suffer a week in heaven for being cryteks banner waving fanboy before the game came out... i know its too late to take it back, and i truely am sorry for my actions Sad

tried it again, this time i got an average of 41.705

if i JUST look at the last 3 loops, and ignore the 'warmup' loop, then on my original run, i get an average of 44.2

doing the same for my 2 seperate tries with the latest drivers, i get 43 and 42.9

basically ive lost 1 fps with the drivers... 1fps is insignificant, i know, but this still makes me almost want to cry Very Happy

and then i imagine the crytek staff kicking back and laughing, using rolled up $20 notes to light their cigars, having a laugh at all the suckers that brought crysis, and then i want to cry even more... this was their plan all along... its why they called it crysis, as an in-joke thats kept them laughing all during development...

Its not about patching.. your PC doesnt have the hardware to run it just like everyone else.. once again crytek made a game that will look good for years to come.. Next years graphics cards will handle it better.

they religiously patched farcry every time major issues had to be solved. I found crysis to be really stable and great compared to the state some other games have shipped in the past (i had one crash and once the infinite machine-gun loop bug). Considering that my hardware is below spec and i also oc'ed cpu and gfx, that is a feat other games have to be compared to.
There will be a patch when there is need for a patch. Comparing it to the witcher that REALLY NEEDED one, is kind of pointless imho.

Fuck this.
After I heard so many good things about this game, I thought I'd try it too.
Installed the new patch, used the mini image. Now every time a new area loads and it starts with a cutscene, the cutscene doesn't start. Gerald only stands in the starting position and I can't move.
Only way to work around this is to save the game there, exit the game completely and then load the savegame, then the cutscene starts immediately.

And in some dialogs voice is missing, they don't even move their lips (but only some persons).

This game is unplayable like that! Did anybody have the same problems?

wrong thread. Still, i guess you have the player.ini in your installation folder somewhere from that crack. Delete it and see if it helps.

I thought everyone was over and done with this game? You beat it once, Horay - who cares about the performance from that point on. This game was a one shot deal for me, have no reason to re-visit it besides benchmarking/basking in the glory of my 9950GTQ GDDR7.

Patch #1 โ€“ Scheduled Release
Based on this feedback we will be able to set a release date for the long awaited Patch #1 for Crysis. If no major problems occur we expect to have it available for public download within January 2008. This is of course related to the reports from the QA departments, but we are confident to match the schedule.
