I bought a RROD console from Ebay for 50 bucks and then sent it to MS for repair after verifying it was under extended warranty for RROD repair and seal was not broken. Does MS give you a new console with HDMI or do they just repair the one u send in or send u an old refurbished one...can anybody tell me their experience.
I was going to buy a new one for my brother but when I read abt how u could get a 360 for 50 bucks this way, I jumped on it. I guess a lot of ppl are abusing this method to get cheap 360s. Can MS do anything to prevent this? Do I need to worry that they will send it back without repairing it?

Friend of mine got one in return with HDMI, but according to him it is no Falcon, so i guess it's a refurbished one.

the one i got back from MS with a refurb, only lasted a week before getting the rrod again.
The night is dark and the road is long. Come on dead men, return to your homes.

Just fix the rrod yourself. Its not so difficult. Im a freakin noob and I fixed mine. Been running perfectly for almost 2 months now. And if it red rings again, itl take probably around 10-20 minutes to fix instead of waiting days for MS to send the console back.
All you need is thermal paste and 5mmx10mm machine screws. Forget the washers.

Just got mine back this week, no HDMI. Not sure if it's the same console as I had before, don't think it is though. The disc-player is definitely new

I've sent mine in, seal had a little of the silver messed up but just put it on again and drive was flashed. Got it back, had to reflash it and it seems they just changed the mainboard at least that's what the paper said.

interesting v interesting klinge. i take it you were banned before you got it repaired. As what ive read is that your console is banned, when you give your console serials they know this and refuse repair. might vary from country to country.

I'm not sure, been thinking about it lately too and my theorie is when I called the product wasn't registered yet. I had to register it to get it repaired and maybe the serial wasn't flagged as banned then? Maybe it's different in Germany since it's their fault the 3 red light show up.
