do you like RTS? You could try the company of heroes + opposing fronts expansion.
Great games with great single player campaigns and even better multiplayer.

Company of Heroes hands down, it will grab you, eat you up and hold you inside, there's so many ways you can play and win a level, tactically its the best game out there, graphic wise you can't fault it either. GET IT NOW OR I WILL PERSONALLY COME OVER TO YOUR HOUSE AND STUFF IT DOWN YOUR THROAT:) And don't download it, buy it else you can't play multiplayer.

If you like FPS', Try out Skulltag or Zdaemon. There online multiplayer ports of Doom (You know, that awesome retro game).
Anyway, yeah, you will find some crazy people on there with god like FPS skills. Both ports have both been in production for quite a few years (About 7 years) and both have pretty good communities and forums.
Best of all, its REALLY easy to produce your own maps, mods, characters, well basicly anything can be modded. Even a total noob with a bit of creativity can easily have a multiplayer map up and running on a server within an hour or 2.
Anyway, check it out. Its really fun, trust.

It has its moments. It can be addictive.
But I'm playing less the higher I go.
I've just reached level 61, but after 60 it gets very hard because of the reduced XP. |
