7.62
Genre: Tactical Game Site: Release date: Spring 2008
Developer: Apeiron Platform: PC
7.62 mm is a tactical action game, sequel to Brigade E5, similar to such classic titles as Jagged Alliance™, X-Com™, and Silent Storm™.
A professional mercenary seeks for a Russian “businessman”, who stole a lot of money from his “colleagues”, then hid in a small country of Latin America to avoid inevitable punishment there. Soon the assignment turns into an intense and dangerous adventure, for there are many things that must be kept in mind – intricate political situation, confrontation between governmental military and rebels, not to mention a necessity to choose friends and foes wisely.

Looks awesome indeed, lets hope the interface and gameplay works out cuz thats the only things that can go wrong in these kind of games, don't really care for graphics cuz Jag All ruled.

It's pretty much sequel for E5, less bugs, more options, tonns more weapons, bit better graphics, this time you have coherent storyline and you can choose not to get involved in the war that is about to start, you can just finish your mission and leave. Then again, where's fun in that?
One of the good features is that you can use enemy uniforms and move around more or less undisturbed, at least if you won't do any fishy stuff and stare enemy officers in the eyes. Also, this game is happening in the country that's directly to the north from one you're poking around in E5, so you can sneak across the border and get all kind of goodies from your old smuggler buddies.
If you like E5 you're going to like this one much more.

Looks real nice. So this is turn based?
edit: "Game play for the title is based on an innovative combat system called SPM (Smart Pause Mode) that successfully blends together real-time and turn-based games." Might have to try Brigade E5 demo then to see what's it like.

SPM is something like every action you make requires a certain amount of time to be performed, and when certain events occurs(enemies visible, destination reached...) the game auto pauses(ofc the events are configurable).
If you have played UFO:Afterlight, you know the system already.
I for one think this semi realtime system is kinda wierd for these types of games(heavy tactical), because you need some twich reflexes to play the game at it's potential, and there are times when you'll get overwhelmed with info(happened a lot to me in Brigade E5), but if you pay attention to everything, it could work.
Ofc, this could have all been avoided by puting a turn based system in place but, hey, we're in 200...8 now, we can't label the games as TBS anymore, cause it sounds too oldschool. Now, SPM...sounds cooler

A few updates on this game:
Seems like the official english translation will take some more time, because 7.62 Reloaded has just been released in Russia(it adds a mission based campaign, sort of Jagged Alliance: Deadly Games). They might just release this new version for the non russian speaking players.
Meanwhile, an unofficial translation mod has been released, you can find it here:
http://cyberpunk2021.free.fr/7.62/
It works pretty well for the most part, but keep in mind that it isn't the full translation yet, and in order for the GUI to be translated you have to play the game in 1280x1024 or bigger resolutions.
here is the forum link for this mod:

Also, here's a weapon mod for the game. It seems the devs fucked up on purpose the western guns. This mod tries to rebalance the guns:

I hope it's better then Brigade E5, that game was utter crap.
It's not because there is a drought of Jagged Alliance like games that any look-a-like pos will do.

Is or has?
The addon just gives you an additional mission based campaign, it doesn't add anything else. The bugs? ofc it has bugs, but what's important is for the gameplay to work properly, which it does
