Yes, they are. Did we watch the same movie? You see them jump like crazy, and especially when they attack at the end. Look at the speed they are running at. Look how they jump. Look at them move around in the house at the end, especially the scene where Neville is shooting around at the mutant (I choose not to call them infected, that is so BS ripoff) in the kitchen. Look at the one who is attached to the roof where the woman and the kid is hiding under the bed. Look at how the mutants get into Neville's lab by sheer strength, and finally the super-mutant who is knocking holes in the plexi-glass with his brain. Oh, and not to mention the scene with Neville going suicidal on the pier...

dez, u probably downloaded a fake pretending to be the repack, that'd be the only reason its not working.

well the other answer would be that ur rubbish at piracy and should quit now, but lets hope that its the first solution Razz

That was the reason indeed! Got it now and already watched it - quite nice, though some scenes are a bit corny (like the one where he is almost killed by the alpha dude and then the gal with her kid turns up and chases them all away...)

i just went back and rewatched it, and come on, they werent THAT much stronger or faster than our nigga will was.. you DO notice an advantage and it is significant - their increased strength no doubt comes from the fact that their minds no longer function the same as a humans do, so they operate without the mental limits and safeguards that we have, which would give the appearance of increased strength and speed... as for their jumping like crazy + speed... i saw nothing that was outside of what you see free runners doing...

either way, the increase over human abilities that u do se, is DEFINATELY nothing to suggest they could punch through concrete or jump over the wall to the city at the end, which is what the discussion was originally about

The infected had an elevated metabolism which could account for the super speed/strength. Although when they were chasing neville out of the hive they weren't able to catch up to him. It's just another plot device used very conveniently to make a movie more 'thrilling'. Like at the trap when neville is crawling ever so slowly to make for a nail-biter. Just like star trek where they can never use scanners/transporters/weapons when they are needed the most to make it more challenging.

Very Happy This is like arguing which is faster; warp 9.9 or hyperspeed.

Well, after the chase they caught him anyway. He started running first and when a man is scared he runs at warp speed. But still they caught him and fortunately Neville could break through the windows thus saving himself.

Also those once-humans became animals and as you know animals don't think that much before hitting a wall with their heads Laughing Very Happy

Also they (creatures) probably found out that crawling is a better way of moving (its faster) thus the dude hanging from the ceiling in one of the scenes.

its warp 9.9 and i wont take anyone else suggesting otherwise!!

and yes it is a plot device to make the ending more exciting... either way, mutants or infected deifinately arent super human to any HUGE degree.

I agree the movie is filled with plot holes/devices.
funny things :

1) of course the last survivor HAS to be the pinnacle of american society product: a biogenetic scientist/hyper healthy musculated body/ expert in military weaponry. and of course the world count on him alone to get the cure of a lethal virus. (why need teams of scientists? 1 can find cure faster than 100 brains)

2) of course the cure has to work on infected, after it does'nt work on rat, which shouldnt happen at all.

3) of course the latina chick was hidden around the corner watching him getting chased by infected, and choose the last moment to kill all of them and free him. (yea hes supposed to be surrounded by zombies, how the hell the chick manage to get to the car)

i could go on on the funny unrealistic stuff.

will smith+plot devices/holes = family friendly movie.

Did you miss the big baraboom from the grenade at the end? Laughing Neville killed off the remaining mutants who had been following them most likely.

One thing I was pondering about though: If they blew all the bridges and destroyed all the tunnels during the quarantine - how did the latina chick drive out of there?

It never showed her get into a car so I'm just guessing she found a car outside of New York and used that.

So true, and 28 days later didn't have to resort to CGI.

Thought so until i saw the city shown in I Am Legend : empty city and flora and fauna taking over the streets (at day anyways). In my opinion the scenography is indeed a work nicely done.

And about Neville being a military expert and awesome gunfighter...hmm...in the movie he can't shoot for shit! Yeah, he's got quite an arsenal but if i was him i would like to have guns in the only safe spot in the city so i could defend myself. Laying mines / explosives isn't that hard to do...i THINK.
Also he ain't no Rambo - hit to the head and he is hanging on a rope. Also he is not a great runner.

And about him getting the cure made all along by himself...well in Omega Man it was said that the hero made a vaccine just before he got infected therefore he survived the plague. So if Neville from Omega Man is the same Neville in IAL then he made the vaccine by himself (as told in OM). He only has to retrace the steps while making the vaccine. However that's only a suggestion, because i think it wasn't told in the movie - he's only some scientist trying to find a cure to the virus. Was there a word he made the vaccine? I think it was only said his blood was immune or sth. Jeez, gotta watch it again.

BTW. The Shelby GT500 was nice Very Happy I would keep it. Yeah, definitely keep it. I wonder if it's a "tribute" to Omega Man where Heston also was stealing (well, actually it was taking/claiming since there was no owner cause everyone else died) and driving a Ford for a while.

I was rewatching the movie, and i dont know if its true, but it seems like when Neville is driving and sees the manikin (the trap), the manikin moves his head in the direction of Neville and thats why he freaks out and starts shooting it. I rewatched it several times, and to me it does look like it moves, maybe he was just imagining things, and we saw it from his POV.
Edit Tried to make a gif, image quality is crap, had to make it small.

Didn't neville's suv get totaled at the pier? When all the mutants were attacking him?

2 things: 1, it noticed that yes it did look exactly like nevilles, same colour, and same protective cover over the headlights... and 2: yes, his car got fucked up... so i chalk the entire ending up to lazyness and a bunch of silly plot devices to be honest.

Didn't see the movie yet, but sounds like product placement to me. Some car manufacturer sends them a car with a bag full of money so they use it. Producers don't give a crap about logic if they can make money.

Not a bad movie, very entertaining but I was expecting better. The zombies CGI weren't that good and I didn't like how overpowered they were.
What about the manikin in the middle of the street? wasn't he alone? pls don't tell me it was the zombies setting that trap.. Laughing
