I don't know about increase, it runs as well as it ever did here. Perhaps if anything, it's a little smoother...? I run the game 1280x1024 with the very high settings configuration. Runs great

Runs smooth in DX10 very high with 8800GTS 320MB? Please...

I have same card... id does NOT run ok in very high dx10 at that resolution.

On the other hand, it DOES run with those settings under XP (with very high settings enadled through cfg file). However it's just "decent" (20-25 fps) not smooth.

I have the 8800GTS 640 Mb under XP and it doesn't run smooth. Although that patch seemed to help a little bit. Prior to patching my frame rate would drop to zero during the tank mission i'm on, after the patch it hasn't chopped out yet, which is nice Smile

Im happy, playing on medium, with textures & Physics @ high, 1024x768
And a little tweaking.

Right now im inside this rock, dont remember the name.
but this is where my card is struggling,
in outside areas its fine tho.

And this with a damn 7800GS AGP card.
Dint know my card could handle this like it is now Smile

Im gonna try the patch later, to see if i gain some extra performance.

If anyone got a Lower GPU like mine, try my config Smile

Yeah, the game is pretty well optimized. I could run the game on my old p4 @ 3Ghz with a GF6800 pretty well. Now that I got my Quad 2.4 Ghz and 8800GT it runs perfect all on high with 2xAA in 1200x1024. I have yet to install the update, but might do it soon if I get the time.

Same happened me, I solved it by uninstalling Crysis but keeping profiles, re-installing it without copy cracks and then do the patching, after I copyed over the 1.1 crack

all of you that are complaining about the patch asking for the dvd, did you make sure you have the original .exe before patching ?
i saw tons of people trying to patch their cracked downloaded game, then invading the official forums with complains, its hilarious
although this may not be the case, but still ^^

Yes I put back that original exe before patching. It wasn't that case I assure you. hehe just cause post count is 31, dont let that fool ya.

Actually I say maybe because I had the edit dx10 files replacing those might have done it, not sure. I didn't even try to patch it with cracked exe, as pointed out that usually never works, actually that has never worked that I know of, so beats me. All's good now.

Same here. People who are having problems are screwed up something i suppose.

Performance is much better than 1.0. I'd say about 20 % increase. Superb.

Now i can finally play this with shitty Opteron 146, 1,5gb mem and 7600GT Smile

What i have heard the performance was already pretty solid with medium and high end rigs. I think they optimized the game to run better in low end machines.

Before the game was unplayable for me. Who want's to play games with 800*600 low details.
Now i can use native 1280 * 1024 res and medium details.

I heard the single core cpu performance was increased by noticeable amount, while performance of dual and quad core cpus was pretty much not increased at all.

which makes it pretty worthless. what gamer still has a single core cpu nowadays? dual core has been standard for over a year now.

Actually it works most times.

I have a single core CPU. An Athlon64 3800+ which is still decent imo. Nowadays the CPU is less important anyway. GPU is much more important.
Good to hear about a performance increase on single-core. I guess I will have to reinstall the game with the patch soon. Smile

u have to realise that crytek doesnt know how to get any better performance out of multicore cpus, thats why they havent done it.

theyve known since the beginning of november (thats 2 months ago) that the multicore performance was rubbish... the fact that he havent done anything to change that, shows that they either simply cant, or just cant be bothered (which is also a pretty viable reason i spose) - they also havent done shit to secure multiplayer gaming or ban cheats... basically all this patch does is make people think crytek is doing 'something' when really they arent.

in fact theyve known a HOST of problems since the beginning of november, and their patches arent addressing any of them i dont think...

http://crymod.com/filebase.php?fileid=604&lim=0

Small but nice battle map with alot of NK's versus Marines.
(Some vehicles such as tanks are also involved.)

http://crymod.com/filebase.php?fileid=483&lim=0

Nice custom light settings but the map is a bit unfinished.
(Some nanosuits versus NK's in a village setting.)

http://crymod.com/filebase.php?fileid=358&lim=0

Cool level and really nice lightning, not many enemies either.
(A bit more demanding than the usual maps.)

http://crymod.com/filebase.php?fileid=412&lim=20

Island combat against alot of NK troops, awesome jungle fights.
(Somewhat flat and really hurts performance in higher configurations due to the thick vegetation.)

http://crymod.com/filebase.php?fileid=441&lim=30

Small forest with some enemy patrols, also a bit more demanding due to the setting.
(Forests and thick vegetation can really drain FPS, especially with custom view distances and shadows.)

http://crymod.com/filebase.php?fileid=436&lim=30

Empty training map but quite fun to experiment with.
(Looks quite good as well.)

http://crymod.com/filebase.php?fileid=339&lim=30

Island assault, mostly night combat but it switches to daytime after a while.
(Not fully finished but what's done is quite good.)

http://crymod.com/filebase.php?fileid=427&lim=50

Mainly sniper oriented but using the different suit modes it's not that difficult to complete.
(Nice island as well.)

http://crymod.com/filebase.php?fileid=635&lim=60

Old school FPS map with alot of enemies using custom lightning and diverse enviroments.
(NK's, alien machines and even a VTOL sequence.)

http://crymod.com/filebase.php?fileid=411&lim=60

Short jungle fight against a bunch of NK"s and Nanosuits.
(Also a bit more demanding on performance due to the added vegetation.)

http://crymod.com/filebase.php?fileid=624&lim=60

Haven't played this one myself but have it installed, seems promising enough.

Also check here for upcoming maps. Smile
http://crymod.com/board.php?boardid=148

Here's one example, also available for download as a early beta version.
http://crymod.com/thread.php?threadid=11725
(Savanna setting, car chases and some minor bugs due to being a beta.)

And this jungle looks pretty interesting.
http://crymod.com/thread.php?threadid=15207

This map is actually finished but a bit to big for the site due to being badly packed.
http://crymod.com/thread.php?threadid=14780
(Called Lost and is loosely based on that program.)

Should be enough for a few days atleast, check back now and then for new releases.

The patch doesn't touch any config files albeit it does update some shaders as it overwrites the "Shaders.pak" file.
(Most of the other changes are in the zPatch1.pak file and English1.pak file aside from engine changes to EXE and dll files.)

It also adds some benchmark file to the Ice level but doesn't touch any of the existing files for any levels and breaks the sandbox 2 editor (AI compilation crashes the thing when saving the map/exporting the map.) according to the CryMod forums.
(Known issue and will be fixed in the next update/hotfix or whatever they will release as it's quite a problem.)

EDIT: It does add a new config file though, Sys_Spec_MotionBlur.cfg. Smile
