So, here“s what im looking for:

A blog service/web-based, or platform to run on its own server (need to be easy to set-up).

- Easy editing of visuals, the graphics
- Able to tag the posts with 2-3 categories, and be able to list all entries with a specific tag
- As easy to use and set-up as possible (well, duh), as im only good at coding HTML and CSS (if its a standalone platform, im guessing they use PHP or similar?).

Please give me some good examples, and why that particular one is good Smile

Appreciate any help Smile

Actually it's around 60.

while I never heard the 50's version I do enjoy Lou's version. It's very catchy.

You all suck.. TextPattern is the way forward..

http://www.decoded.org - Runs on textpattern.

Does need a websever to run on though (PHP + MySQL..).. Still, it really isn't rocket science to setup!

Don't use Mambo! Use Joomla the community is much better / much more active. Mambo has an issue where it will decide to just lock everyone out of articles saying you don't have permissions even if the permissions are disabled. The Dev forums are full of that issue. I waited around 3 months for a fix and never got one, been using joomla for about 1 year and never had any issues.

----

They may have fixed it by now, but i would avoid something that takes that long to be fixed.

I've heard a lot of people like DruPal.

Either way, rather then having people give you explanations of why they like it, why not just try them.

I'd recommend www.drupal.org. Using it for a couple of sites. I can however admit that the first time you use it you will feel a bit lost and frustrated (at least I did) but the customization possibilities of it is great. I tried Joomla and the like but I always go back to Drupal.
