Right my msi 8800 gt just arrived all good and well, but when i boot up my
pc i get this high beeping noise,i assume this is PS-related.
I have an Antex true Power 550w i also run 2 hds and a dvd-writer,im having
a hard time believing thats my PS is not up the standard, havent checked my rails yet
cause i dont have a meter at home (bugger) ,and yes i plugged in the xtra power outlet
on the card itself.Is a 8800 gts that power-hungry?
Can anybody please help me or kill me cause this is just the gay shit.
No its not PSU. 8 disks here, 8800gtx, WC whole pc, c2d clocked,4 gb ram and all slots on motherboard are full and all runs with tagen 530w. Card might be bad or you didnt connect her good in slot. Check the slot and power cable. They need to be tight in. If that doesnt help then card is bad.
I had the same problem - for me it was the power connector splitter-thingy that came with the card, that connects a molex in one end and has a PCI-e power connector on the other. One of the pins in the molex connector was loose and didnt connect properly, so i just connected my PSU“s PCI-e power connector directly.
Also, it beeps if you havent seated the card correctly into the slot, so check that its all the way in. Try to remove it and put it back in.
