4 discs is quite a lot to download. I think Ill just get the first disc and see how it is assuming you dont need all 4 to even play the game lol. May the NFOrce be with you always.

Well the only other multidisc game I know of for the Xbox360 is Blue Dragon which is 3 discs and that is by Mistwalker who are the same devs as Lost Odyssey!

lol typical. Ill get 2 discs then! To be honest I may as well just get them all and not bother with the official PAL release. I cant see it being any different really.

I'm loving it but it is just pretty much Final Fantasy on 360. There are small changes to the game mechanics such as the skills and ring/trigger attack system - the rings themselves are assembled from parts/spoils from monsters. You could say it's less complex with discovered magic being added to a big magic database useable by all characters. It's still a very Japanese RPG in that there are unforgiving boss battles that you jump into which you could only beat after knowing the right strategy. The dream sequence bits may or may not be your thing.. depending if you like to read I guess. If you do though, you'll enjoy the interludes where they tell the sad forgotten tales of Mr Immortal dude (Kaim). I have to say the character designs don't exactly stand out like Nomura's in FF for example. I dunno if I'd go as far as bland but they're just different. UE3 engine looks fine for the game but its not the best looking game out there. Uematsu's music is top notch as expected

I´ve only played for like an hour, so I dont know about the dream-sequences..

But!

So far, I´m really into it too, and ofcourse it screams Jap RPG from 10 miles away (wich isnt a bad thing!). Character design is okay i think, not bad at all. A bit more "mature" if you´d like, than for example FFX.

Speaking of FF, anyone that has played FF7 and X, and love ´em ( Very Happy

), do you see the same similarities as me?

Magic Energy.. Mako anyone? The Ring-system.. hmm, maybe Synthesize from FFX? The sounds are VERY FF-ish too. Ofcourse the music is very FF-like too, but thats not exactly a surprise, seeing that Uematsu made the music Smile

Also, the mini-map looks very much like the one from FF12.

But these things aren´t exactly negative for me - i love the FF-games and that its an obvious Jap RPG is just charming, kind of Smile

Graphics so far has been up and down, in terms of quality. Sometimes it looks really good, sometimes not. But hey, who really cares? It looks good enough, for a game this big.
