Just finished the movie. Video quality is DVD like, and it has surround sound

I found this one better than first one but its too dark as a movie

Not a single bit of originality. The movie was literally a patchwork of scenes from earlier movies including

Fight between predator and predalien was a disappointment with standard moves. I wish directors would stop using these weird filters. It's not 'artistic', just lame.

While I agree it is below any of the Alien & Predator films, It surprised me how entertaining and gory this film was, I had such low expectations ever since the first Anderson movie so I quess the standards had been set Razz

Anyway it try some horrifying things in American films such as killings of babies, children & the girl next door and greetz to that.

6.5/10

My mini review:

Dark & darker & Pitch Black.
Cheap splatter scenes with no finesse, and please lets not talk about the story...
And most important, where is the suspense?
And finally it feels like a TV Show, not a cinema movie.

I kind of laughed when they called in the national guard - sure the electricity was gone, but they jumped out of their cars as if they were in Aliens 2. How the hell did they know to expect alien attack? Razz

just as long as people realise this is completely in a different alternative universe from the aliens films... man how i wish a real director would step up and make an avp film... someone like scott of cameron, who have enough studio clout to basically be able to step up and say 'right... were doing it this way...' and then go and make it... hopefully setting it IN SPACE, not on fucking present day earth... anderson must be some kind of moron to have come up with that concept.

Reasons why I hated this movie are too numerous to list here but here is a small selection.

1. Copy pasting scenes from earlier Predator and Alien movies.
2. Messing around with facts established in earlier movies like the aliens life-cycle. And are predators suddenly immune to alien blood? Actually this movie pisses on the whole Aliens and Predator universe but it's too much to expect the story writers to come up with a script that fits in that framework.
3. Wasting so much time (in a 90 min movie) on 'background' stuff that no-one wants to see. Who cares about the love life of some pizza-delivery boy and a chick from Bangbros or whether a soldier has a weird relation with her daughter.
4. And stay the fuck away from the babies! I'm okay with teens and pregnant women but babies man! Sad

The fact that you enjoyed those teens getting killed meant that all that background story didn't really add anything. In the original predator we knew that not all of the characters would make it to the choppa but I still felt a bit sorry when they got killed.

Directors tried to do too many things with this movie. It was supposed to be a sci-fi/horror movie. Group of people vs the nasties. People get cut down. People fight back. Simple.

Wasnt it abit fast for the father/son hunters give birth to the aliens? Sure, it could be a couple of days later - but from watching the movie it felt like 10 minutes or so before their chest exploded after frenchkissing the facehuggers

I kind of like the fact that kids/pregnant women and babies died. They have a tendency to survive almost anything in Hollywood movies.

Yes, but you don't make a movie combining the two unless you have some weird urge or think it's cool to do things that haven't been done. They haven't been done because it's not very sane. Like putting kids in a porn movie.

If the directors have shown the babies, then it were really insane. But killing a pregnant women it not sick for me (if she is killed by an Alien). Maybe if i were younger, then i would not like the scene.

+ The Dialogue was horrible as well, the scene with the chopper crash pissed me off I mean who says “I thought I told you not to crash” after being in an accident never mind having your whole city butchered by fucking aliens. As mentioned earlier in this thread what is with the pointless back story do we really need to know about that military chick’s shitty relationship with her daughter. All I wanted to see was some people get butchered by some Aliens, but instead all I got was a shitty day-time soap opera.

well that was utter shit.

so many things they tried to rip from the other films but did it so absolutely horrible... like said above, bad lighting, horrible dialogue... and wow.. the deaths were horrible... absolutely piss poor.. though i giggled my ass off when that stupid bitch got iced by that big ass spinny blade thing, that was a high point for me because i hated her... but wow... as an alien or a pred film it failed so badly on EVERY level, even the effects were meh... and wow, TOTAL disregard for ANY lore or rules or ANY kind of shit that'd make sense based on how the aliens or preds are in previous films...

luckily for me i predicted that to be the case after watching that teaser trailer which certain people seemed intent on defending and claiming 'looked teh mAd ShiZZle!!111', and as such i viewed the movie as a stv type horror monster type film... which is probably the only reason i managed to get through it where others couldnt.
