Thats just sad. I'm guessing maybe 0.001% of the population would agree with you on that. |
while i dont agree with pumbertot, he has hit a nerve there. What it comes down to for me is the freedom to do whatever i want with a system, and i cant do that with a console. Also a console is a one-trick-pony and PCs can do so much more than only play games.
And if a game is good, it is usually ok to wait till it got ported to the pc. It is still fun to play SNES and N64 Roms if the gameplay is good.
Also many of the games on consoles suck in my opinion. There is too much trash being released for kids or people who cant remember more than 5 buttons. There are certainly also great games out on consoles and what it comes down in the end is personal taste and how you want to spend your money. I ll be a pc-gamer for a long time i guess though

That's been around for a lil while now. Saw it a couple weeks ago. Unless it was just now released.

It's not fake, it's probably a mistake on EA's part (doesn't mean it's not true though). Let's hope it comes sooner than later

Mass Effect Officially Coming to PC in May!
Quote: | REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Leading video game developer, BioWare™, an Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:ERTS - News) company, has announced that the award-winning space epic Mass Effect™ will be released for the PC in May 2008. Published by EA and re-designed for the PC, Mass Effect invites players to take the role of Commander Shepard as they set out on an adventure to save the galaxy from imminent destruction. Wrought with treachery, heroism, difficult decisions and a universe filled with unique and colorful species, Mass Effect delivers a truly compelling storyline.
Optimized for the PC, Mass Effect for the PC incorporates the following features:
* Optimized controls designed specifically for the PC.
* High resolution visuals – Mass Effect for the PC features highly detailed textures, characters and environments.
* Fully customizable controls – PC gamers can re-map the control scheme any way they like.
* Run & Gun Control – Players can assign biotic powers or skills to ‘hot keys’ allowing them to play Mass Effect with a heavier focus on action.
* New decryption mini-game.
* New inventory screen GUI and functionality – The enhanced inventory system makes it easier for players to equip and modify their weapons and armor.
“Mass Effect serves as a powerful example of video games as an art form, delivering new levels of emotional intensity, realistic characters and a gripping storyline – all set in a compelling new universe,” said Ray Muzyka, General Manager, BioWare and Vice President, Electronic Arts. Frank Gibeau, President of EA’s Games Label added, “EA has struck an agreement with Microsoft to handle future publishing for Mass Effect. We are looking forward to releasing Mass Effect on the PC this Spring and brand new titles in the future.”
Originally released for the Xbox 360™ videogame and entertainment system, Mass Effect has received critical acclaim throughout the world with more than 70 awards including Game of the Year, Console Game of the Year and Role-Playing Game of the Year. Mass Effect combines a deep story with intense combat and challenges the player to make difficult decisions that can significantly impact the course of events. An innovative conversation system allows for lifelike interaction with some of the most realistic digital actors, voiced by Hollywood actors such as Seth Green, Marina Sirtis, Lance Henriksen and Keith David. Mass Effect for the PC has not yet been rated by the Entertainment Software Rating Board. |

While the xbox players have to deal with the texture pop-up and unreadable discs the Bioware team is making a better version of the game to the PC.
Because there is no doubt in my mind that the PC version will be much better, redesigned inventory system for starters, No bloody texture pop ups as well I'll bet. Wouldn't be surprised if the DLC is free for them too.
So we get stuck with the prototype game while the pc gamers get the "real" game... |

Of course I had to say it at least a hundred times to a hundred crying bitches "it's not coming to the pc what's wrong with them, I want my mommy", what a waste of my god damn time that was, some idiots just don't understand the gaming industry.

I doubt bioware would give it to a company that didn't know what they were doing. Lost Planet is still one of the most amazing ports I've seen to date (totally irrelevant but still)

Isn't MGS4 coming to the 360 as well? |
That's been a rumor forever. IF it does it won't be till the game is old as dirt and has made every la st penny they can off it.
Metal Gear solid I believe was PS1 exclusive till it came out as twin snakes on game cube.

There is still the matter of downloadable content for the xbox, like this first pack with an extra race and some planets, I hope they will include this in the original pc edition not as a 'downloadable'.

It was bound to come to PC sooner or later. Good to see that it's already coming this spring.
I was hoping for a quick release.
The inventory redesign will hopefully help too. The Xbox inventory wasn't too bad at first, but once you got lots of items it was extremely hard to navigate and find what you're looking for.
Definitely gonna play this again on PC when it's out.
