OverClocked

  • Publisher: dtp entertainment
  • Developer: House of Tales
  • Genre: Adventure
  • Release date: 27-Apr-2007

  • Story/Description:
    Quote:

In Overclocked, the adventure game veterans from House of Tales tackle a problem that is as archetypal, as it is topical: violence.

Set against the backdrop of a catastrophic thunderstorm raging over New York, Overclocked mixes frightening fictional thriller Elements with real research findings on war simulation and psychology. As a US army psychiatrist, the player is tasked with exploring the memories of several characters as he finds himself in a true psychological thriller.

Using innovative narrative structures, Overclocked charts the diffuse areas where memories and illusions, dreams and reality, perpetrators and victims meet and deals with an issue that is as topical as it is ancient: violence.

Technically, Overclocked takes the engine from The Moment of Silence to the next level with an innovative character animation system, improved facial expressions, more real-time camera movement, cinematic dialogues and lots of interaction – the results are strong visuals and an involving story. Overclocked is a political psycho-thriller with survival-horror flair that offers thrills, as well as plenty food for thought.

That Heavy Rain trailer has been burned deep inside my brain. Unbelievable acting. It is one of the most memorable game clips I have ever seen. Since it deserves better quality than YouTube, here is a link for the high definition version http://www.ageia.com/physx/videos.html
It's somewhere at the middle.

Was just reading up about this game and, according to the Publisher's site it'll be out on the 12th of October - the German version at least, but as Iced said, early 2008 for the US translation according to their forum, and no news on the EU release.

Does anybody know whats happened to the english version of this game?

I know the german version was released some time ago but I've never seen nothing for the english version?!?

Anyway, I had high hopes for this game. I though it looked interesting. It would fill some time in between the hours of playing COD 4 and crysis. Anybody else waiting?
