lol still not the sort of thing most people would admit to but I respect that. Also the enemies you sneak around in this game are mostly canines and not really scary at all. Give the game a go. It is worth it and probably not quite fucked up as Condemned in my opinion. |
Its funny, because although I tend to shit it when i'm playing horror games aswell, I still play all the way through them.
As I said earlier in the thread, when I first started playing I was creeped out too, but I came back to it and had a great time playing it. Although the same creepy atmosphere pervades the vast majority of the game, the only other time I can say I was shitting it again was at the ending.
As headshot said, the zombified dogs you encounter through most of the game arn't scary, although there are some tense moments later on. Remember, it's not the rock making those noises!

There's one or two games I had to quit playing because they freaked me out too much - System Shock 2 is definitely the game where I tried the hardest though. Respawning enemies + creepy sounds + creepy setting + creepy animations = scary as hell. It just made me jump too much since you couldn't rest *anywhere*.
Another very scary part of a game is The Cradle in Thief 3. Nearly made me stop playing near the end, damn freaky.

The only game that ever did creep me out was Darkseed. Pretty old now tho!
Edit: Actually also thinking about it, the original Thief game. Those skeletal dudes wandering around the haunted cathedral as I hid in the darkness and the noise of their chainmail chinking! Man yeah that did freak me out!

Anyone had this problem. When i mount it in vista with deamon tools vista hangs. I only have it with this game. In xp i can mount it normal.
What could be the prob?

wierd bug here dunno if its the crack or anything, nuke?
in the very first room where you wake up as soon as I click to manipulate the matress on the flood I get booted to desktop instantly, no error, no nothing.
anyone else? in xp by the way

gonna try my vista install, and VGA I am getting the same problem in vista with this image, crashes vista completely when mounting with DT used isobuster to extract from the bin, installing now
I smell a deffo nuke

The issue with Vista arises because of the fact that the executable on the disc which you need to run to install the game, and which is also set as the 'autorun' is 500MB+ in size. So it takes Vista quite a while to do its gay little verify executable integrity stuff on it. Just wait a while and eventually the give access box will pop-up, and the installer will run fine.
