Yeah multiplayer on the official Kaos servers with 32 players is what this game is all about. Single player is boring, as you can imagine for a battlefield structured game.

I really should leave a blank dual layer in my drive so I can burn from work via logmein and play as soon as I get home! I never remember to do that though lol.

I thought the game was quite good, not as bad as some people made it out to be. It's not a conflict denied op, now that's garbage. I thought the drone was pretty cool, but how come they don't shoot them down? I thinks it too easy with the drones.

I thought this game was supposed to have support for upto 50 players.

games are getting shorter because the graphics are getting better.
better graphics = more time required to create models, textures, levels, animations = longer overall developement time.

so the only way to deliver a game in a reasonable time frame is the reduction ofthe game's length.

The best example of this is elder scrolls.
Elder Scrolls 2 Daggerfall had like thousand cities, several thousand dungeons, over 750 thousand NPCs... well, you get the idea.
Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion has what? like 7 or 8 cities, a few hundred NPCs.

everything just has to be too detailed and polished nowadays.
maybe some day developers will find ways to randomly generate awesome stuff, but until that day comes games will get shorter and shorter.

Is the single player portion is a real single player experience, or is this game is all about MP?

PC users say it's 6 hours long. So I guess the answer is no.

Thats a terrible example, most of Daggerfall was empty procedurally generated boredom. Oblivion had a far more interesting and involved world. I'd take that any day over the generic world of Daggerfall.

I can't believe people are playing this expecting anything more then a tacked on single player. It's a fucking battlefield clone!

gfx is probably 7/10.

I played it on live straight off yesterday and didnt like it.

tbh i didnt have a clue about what I was doing, so i guess i need to do some SP before attempting to play on live. but it did seem eary and quiet - little atmosphere?

Its a real single player. BF2:MC is complete shit compare to that., You need to cap or destroy some objectives, you do that in Medal of Honor: AIrborne to take this as an example and i didnt see poeple complaining about that.

I, instead, wouldn't. Let me explain why:
First of all, your assumptions about Daggerfall are only partially true. While the gameworld is randomly generated (if by "generic" you mean buildings which looks the same, though there are differences between the various regions, then you're right. However, Daggerfall's world, as an example, has got far more lore than Oblivion and Morrowind taken together and by that I mean the huge amount of information, stories, myths, etc. you can get by reading scrolls, books, asking to people. Also, Daggerfall used an interesting template system for its quests, which allowed to randomize evey element on a quest, based on a template: I don't know exactly how many quests are there in Oblivion, but Daggerfall has got 350 templates, so as you can see not everything is "procedural generated boredom", because even if the elements weren't randomized, there would be still 350 quests to do (not to mention how many of them have got alternative endings, like the Lord K'Var one). Oh, and Daggerfall has got FAR more atmosphere than Oblivion.

Speaking about the need the need to create smaller world to keep the detail, in 1992 Bradley was able to create the enormous world of Wizardry VII, which must be at least twenty times larger than Oblivion's one, yet he managed to make every location interesting and greatly detailed. People were able to create Darklands in 1994, where the world covers the WHOLE COUNTRY of Germany and manages to keep a detail level which is far better than anything Oblivion could ever do (does Oblivion allow the player to choose one from seven ways to enter a city, for example). Those were the times when developers were still interested in quality and not only in making f@cking money.
