you have to be takin the piss..... hl2 will have more physics than css, its limmited to reduce lags. painkiller hardly has physics at all u cant put that in the table. far cry great graphics? stfu theyre nothing compared to half lifes scales and lighting. funniest one though has to be AI....... HALO GREAT AI!!! lmao u can beat that game using about 1000 bullets if you took your time, they always leave a limb stickin out. and farcrys ai was ok but still not difficult and they dont run away when injured and get help etc. nor do they change the way they appear in every level. i.e when u run past a building 3 monsters will be there 1 on the left 2 on the right. half life will have random enemies.

typical nforce poster that doesnt read and just uses thier own assumptions when making a judgment on a game that hasnt even been played yet.... good call sublime. BTW you have to be taken the piss? Is that some british slang, never heard of it. What does it mean, not trying to be a dick, just curious.

OK So... first off, I don't think anyone has bothered to mention that.... CS-Source IS HALF LIFE 2 YOU MORON. So yes, it WOULD BE considered "revolutionary" in that sense. But nice arguing. As someone said before, no games have broughten these all together... Doom 3 was a joke, it bored the hell out of me and was vastly over rated. Take away the graphics and you have a shitty FPS game. Far cry was enjoyable enough, although as the person mentioned before, the enemies have specific spots that they will always be in, generally standing still.... But it was ok AI... can't really comment on Halo, but I would have thought you would put in UT2004 or something, don't they have good AI?
In any case, it's looking like it will be an amazing game, so who cares wtf it is asides from great? loosah.

Aside from the fact that cs-source IS hl2, I think FarCry matches all 3 up there, and doom3 also deserves the "great physics" award. But you missed the point of the game by a mile if you judge it by those 3. The thing with half-life 2 will be Gameplay and most possibly Storyline. Tho I'm not a storyline whore (OMG EVERY GAME NEEDS A STORYLINE TO BE FUN??!!?!11!1one), I am sure hl2 will have a great one which will be quite gripping. My only worry is - wtf do i do after i finish hl2? The hell im gonna play this remake of cs... sigh :/ Peace,

hit boxes around. Tip barrels in MP/sp. Shoot dead bodies (ragdoll). Doom3 has just as much physics as hl2 (just it doesnt have the physgun, oh poo ;( ). Peace,

http://www.sumea.com.au/snews.asp?news=1222&related=Industry
The Pan European Games Information (PEGI) age rating system has given Half Life 2 an R(18+) rating. This means that minors are unable to purchase the game in numerous countries like Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden, and the UK. What's really interesting about this is how the game fairs in Australia. The Australian Office of Film & Literature Classification (OFLC) has yet to classify Half Life 2, but if the board follows suit from their European counterparts, it'll mean that one of this years highly anticipated titles is banned outright from sales here. Currently, Australia has no R rating for games, so game titles need to meet the highest rating (MA 15+) or they will be refused classification. |
I have not seen one game banned in Norway yet.... This must be a joke? Half Life 2 isn't that voilent is it?! |
Only game so far that is pretty violent imo is Manhunt

Listen to me man.. I agree with you, Im just saying that i don't think Half Life 2 will be revolutionary. At best it will be an improvement on all aspects, and yes that is a very big step for a game. Its just my thoughts, no reason getting fired up about it...
To the others: I'm not talking like I've played the game. I'm looking forward to this as much as you. Its strange with forums, if we had this discussion face to face it would be a friendly one

i heard it's aspirine and so i had the best night sleep... EVER!
hahahaha plus you can't really be coherent when you just found out a deep dark secret hidden in your family or maybe... or is it you can't be coherent when you make stuff up on the spot either way i just need some decent pain killers alcohol it has something to do with the lack of alcohol in my system… I think if I keep drinking the pain would stop and I’ll be happy again YAY! GIVE IT UP FOR THE MAN WITH A BAR IN HIS ROOM!
-today on, hl2 - gold, we'll plan on stayin on topic focusing on the nearing release of hl2
-ye we will bob so anything new
-well bill,
Few more weeks till hl2... no new news... nothing... valve's rss updated last night *audience is in shock* it had some reviews and a css update... *audience sympathizes with the reporter* I thought it was something important but no they just posted some reviews like none of us have read them already *audience laughs* and they keep updating css for some reason as if it weren’t complete or something…. Hmm I wonder if hl2 will have a lot of updates coming in when it goes retail. Ok, so i'll read the reviews now starting with the word 'the' * techno music starts, a member of the audience gets up and starts to break dance, then the hot women in the audience start to strip as the reporter reads the reviews to the general john doe public* and there you have it folks *reading ends* and now we open up our phones and'll have our selves a nice discussion *the music stops, stripping ends the hot women and the ugly fat men start having sexual intercourse and the discussion period begins*
so what did the new updates did... in the rss it says

i'm not big on this whole update talk or bug fixing talk... so what do these mean and have it improved the game in anyway? not that the game play sucks, it's different than original cs. Well, it's just a tad different and a lot easier which is why I like it but never play it
