-The jerusalem.forge isnt corrupt its coded.
- Ubisoft brought this stuff out to the open to determine who is th weak link- who supplies warez.
And here is how you can "decode" the .forges:
- U have to modify the SETUP.INI on the dvd from: "ShowPasswordDialog=N" to: "ShowPasswordDialog=Y"
- after this reinstall, it will ask for a CODE!
- the code for the spanish version is: UBIAC10-001 -but this wont work on our reloaded or clonedvd ones.
I hope i could help you guys and maybe someone here could supply the right code for us.
cheers
ps. I only read this on another forum, so dont take this for granted |
How nice of you to register just to tell this to us. Anyway, this game WILL get released in the scene about 25th March.

Ok a got a way around this mess. Basically what you do is download the Russian save game after Jerusalem (Memory Block 4) and you can play 2 more missions in Acre and Damascus.
Here's the link (its a save game so i think it ain't against policy)
http://rs359.rapidshare.com/files/96450063/Saved_Games.rar
But you do miss a part of the story of course...
EDIT: it works. I just started a new mission in the rich part of Damascus.

It's a standard directive in ~every and all installshield applications? Making it ask for a password does not mean it actually has or knows a password to check against.

Quote: | Replacing .forge file for Jerusalem from russian into procyon produces same CTD the moment you zone, bad luck Sad You can enter Jerusalem in russian version just fine |

Have you tried replacing .forge file AND unprotected binaries from russian version into Procyon one?
I'd guess russian forge file'd require russian unprotected binaries.
Probably it's not question whether russian forge file can work with english binaries, rather how much english localization can you retain while using russian unprotected binaries? It's highly improbable you can't retain _ANY_ whatsover. Ofcourse if localization is also in forge files like people say any localization in those 2 problematic forge files of english version is lost, but as for the rest there's still hope.
Hopefully not that much text localization is in executable.
Optimal way to start is to use Araxis merge to do folder compare between russian and english version. Then start moving files which look like they could be localization-related from english version to russian one, checking for results by running russian executable from time to time.
Btw there's conversion patch ~1gb in size, probably made with help of some differential binary patcher, which totally converts installed english version into russian one, for those who don't want to redownload entire russian version. Hence it replaces english localization with russian one but at the same time acts as fix for Jerusalem.
It's called "Русификатор Assassin's Creed" and can be obtained same place russian version itself originated from.

Well, I actually managed to run it by tweaking the ini a bit. Ran like shit at first, but then I downgraded the graphics and was able to get decent FPS. It disappointed me greatly, anyway.

The *extreme* repetitiveness, combined with the lack of variety in quests, lack of NPC interaction, any character development, any freedom of choice, any good sidequests (collecting flags isn't a sidequests, goddamn!) and the fact that it was hyped as one of the best game ever is enough to define it as crappy, in my humble opinion.

I tried to exchange the two files with the russian files, Jerusalem and that other city, and it crashed nevertheless so it doesn't work, the real fix will come when the real version is out but then it's simpler to download it all over again.
