This game has too many unique features to be "just another zombie shooter".

I don't mean that, I mean a shooter (good or bad) that simply uses zombies and all of its paraphernalia merely as a backdrop. I want this to be the ZOMBIE game, you know, tap into the George Romero Dawn of the Dead pool - and bring to the genre what fans have been crying out for. Now by all accounts it looks like it's going to be offering something akin to this, but can't say I'm not sceptical because I am.
Oh and I know the console users got Dead Rising which by all accounts was a good game (?) but they don't count

Lef 4 dead is going to bee much better game. Source engine is just perfect for such things. Remember Ravenholm level from HL2.

While I am excited about this game I still have feelings that it will be a big let down... not because it will be a bad game but rather there are so many zombie mods on the source engine. Zombie Master is no doubt my favorite zombie game of all time because of the unique Idea of a player spawning and giving commands to the zombies. The AI has human help to tell it what it should do.. Left 4 dead will most likely have a generic AI with zombies that simply run up to you. Once you know a map and are use to the game your more then likely going to survive... While in Zombie Master even if you know the map and are a skilled player the ZM's methods change with each player and you never really know what they are going to do. Both also seem to have similar zombie types as well..

Left 4 dead apparently has an AI director that will monitor the flow of the game and spice things up by spawing zombies where and when it sees fit. If it thinks you are having too difficult a time - it will ease up or make things more difficult. Also, playing the same map over will not produce zombies in the same spots or even the same type/amount.
So...should be still entertaining no matter how much you play the map - at least, im hoping so.

Still the game is going to have to have some sort of designated spawning points otherwise you would have zombies spawning 2 steps ahead or behind you. Or heaven forbid literally on top of you...
Also I have always hated games that adjust to players skill levels... They always start off extremely easy then go straight to insanely hard and no matter how awesome you did on the hardest it can possibly be you make a error die once and it resets to easy as shit again. Then back to hard as hell when the round is over. Never once have I played a game that did this method correctly.

As cool as the random spawning sounds, I can picture that going way wrong. If you want an example play HL2 Ep1 where you are getting onto the elevator. Instead of getting on it once you've called it run back into the room you came from and hang out for a few minutes, the engine spawns so many creatures the game comes to a grinding halt and all the sounds chop out.

I just got a 360 as well, didnt like Dead Rising at all. The camera(view) isn't following the character (its third person) so you constantly have to change the camera yourself if you want to have a decent viewing angle, but if you change the camera at the same time as you move, then you will also alter the movement of the character(!)
I also hated everything about the interface, very confusing for such a simple game. And you can't enjoy exploring cause you have no idea if you gonna run out of time. Games where you must complete a task in a certain amount of time should be banned, imo The save system is awful, it can happen that you basicly must restart the whole game from the begining if you fuck up.

My biggest complaint with it was the loading breaks. too many of them,
I'll be the first to admit thought that i didn't play it near enough to ever beat it. . . and I never knew there was an infinite mode either. I may have to give it another go for that.
