Flightplan 7/10

Never saw this movie and as i am sick in a hotel in Taipei, I am just hanging out watching all kind of crap, and this film came up. Not a bad thriller.

Hitman : 7/10, the best game to movie translation so far and overall an enjoyable movie to watch.

9 Rota : 8/10, this movie made me think a lot about Full Metal Jacket, it's not as good but still a great movie to watch. Incredibly cheap CGI when the transport plane gets hit by the rocket launcher made me laugh. It's the first Russian movie I've ever seen, had to rely completely on the subtitles because that language is total gibberish to me Smile

Dark City ( 1998 ) wow, great movie. Really missed that one! Sure it had some flaws (especially logical) but hey it's fiction. It's ok Smile 8/10

Species The Awakening : 6/10 ... another average sci-fi movie, fourth in the serie and i hope it will end it ...
300 : 7/10 ... woaaa i always hated story but some movies like this one really makes it interesting ! ok there's no much story, nonetheless very entertaining
Boogeyman 2 : 5/10 ... i really appreciated the first one, this one was nice for the first half then i got really bored !

Zardoz: 10/10

Trippy, weird, mindfucking, complex sci-fi masterpiece from good ol' seventies. If you've never seen Zardoz, you don't know what the word weird means.

Tetsuo: 10/10

One of the most impressive horror movies I've ever seen. Amazing, so damn scary you'll have a hard time to reach the end, in pure japanese style. Fucked up, but the director is a pure genius.

Dark City: 8/10

The setting of the movie is one of the best I've ever seen i a sci-fi (it reminded me of Blade Runner for some reason, but it was still much different). Too bad it got overshadowed by The Matrix, because it's a very good, while not great, film.

I think that is the reason so many people have not seen it.

The Matrix dominated the box office when Dark City got released.

I think both films are great in their own ways, Dark City I thought had much more depth to the story.

And in places, I'm sure youl agree.. it gets quite scary, or for a better word "creepy". The way the guys move around, the eerieness of the city when the time freezes. etc

hes talking out his ass, thats how Very Happy

dark city was never marketed all that much - it was a lower budget title that noone had the forsight to push into a spotlight which is why it never gained the same massive appeal that the more 'kiddy' friendly matrix film got. i always saw dark city as the matrix for grown-ups... but yeah, matrix was NOT the reason noone noticed dark city. poor marketing and lack of 'well known stars' is what did it.

Dark City had some plotholes too, but I just watched it as an animated comic. So it was ok, just a great science fiction flick.

tbh dark city has shockingly bad acting, and im sorry its just not a good film as the matrix is.

you mean the cgi wasnt as pretty, it didnt have an even remotely as big of a budget, and it had less action...

you seriously cant be comparing matrix and dark city in terms of acting, and have matrix come out as better.. i mean wow, matrix's acting was worse than that in dark city. thats not saying i didnt really enjoy the matrix or that its not a great film, but one category matrix does NOT excel at, was acting...
