In short, I've decided to find some use for my dusty psp and watching movies on it seems like a good option. Very Happy
But my CPU is pretty old (2.8 ghz Pentium) and converting movie in general sounds like a hassle so I've decided to ask you guys, what are my options for video playback? I'm looking for maximums quality and speed.

I convert all my avi videos to mp4 using Xilisoft PSP Video Converter. It does take a short while even on my ancient AMD 754 3400+ with 1gb DDR1!

Sorry to hijack your thread but Im interested in converting retail dvdr to mp4. Can anyone recommend anything?

May the NFOrce be with you always.

I use PSPenc which is a front end for something.
Videos look fine. I had to run it through autogk first to put subs on hard, then change the size and file type. 350MB for a 2 hour movie seems to be fine.

XVid4PSP is fast, easy and freeware. For DVD use CloneDVDmobile from Slysoft.

on what planet?
I downloaded that and it was the biggest piece of garbage I'd ever used.
its like some twisted meld of a webpage and an application that was generating script errors and loaded with ads.
Why would anyone use that?
