NFSU2 Demo= shit loads of fun/ tease.
Great lighting and improved suspension and grip physics were eye candy.
The roam feature is awsome its fun as hell to just speed around the city and blow a doughnut and head in the opposite direction and not have to worry about losing a race. My favorite improvement though is the drift racing, it was sweet to race down a curvy mountion road with on coming traffic, it was much more exciting in my opinion.

Seriously can you give me any tips??? Max I got was like 90000 and that was my first try, after that my score kept going lower and lower... Do you use the handbreak? Or do you just keep turning left and right?? |
Just make sure you sway the car left and right on the straights so you can combo as many drifts into the longer drifts on the turns, also use the hand brake to intiate and/or control the drifts. If you can avoid hitting the rails your scores will multiply. I can almost get into the 200,000's, couple more trys I would think.
Nice game was playing it online today, and won the majority of the races  . Heres a little cheat that I'm kinda disappointed in finding, if your racing online some of the tight turns have smooth barriers with large guiding arrows... dont worry your 350 wont take any damage, I only use this as a last resort kinda like Takumi's gutter technique.. 
The online interface could use some work... ok a lot of work.

Sorry but I think this demo really suck, it's the same friggin thing as the first game,.. maybe better graphics but nearly not noticable unless you search for it and require a a lot better computer (I don't say this because I can't run it at high)
I know the full game will have lots of car tuning and hopefully lots of maps (not like the first game where the 2-3 same maps always came back) but seriously it look more like an expantion pacl than a new game, another proof that EA are fucking corporate whore who only want money..

Whatever, just because you got MX440 video card, dont say the game sucks.
The game is excellent, alot smoother then the 1st one, the graphics are alot better but the performance about doubled, which is great.
I ran the demo at 1280x1024 4xaa 4xaf everything on max, no motion blur, I avg at 90+fps, never drops under 70fps, very very satisfied.

agree, game looks awesome! and the sounds of the engine are great.

yep on drift you just use the handbrake all the time with finger on accelerate.This is one fine looking, playable game, 1200x1024 everything on max settings and all options on and it runs like a dream

on 3rd detail level it runs like dream on my comp, 1024x768.
(xp 1600+, 512MB ram, GF4Ti 4200)
and details on 3rd level aint bad!
I actually didnt think it would run this well at all on my comp

I didn't like the first NFSU, but this one has me completely addicted for some reason.
Especially that multiplayer drift mode... I just had to force myself away from it or i'd be playing it all afternoon. Brings back memories of my endless hours on Ridge Racer Revolution.

I'm having problems with turning. I'm using the keyboard and it seems that the car doesn't turn at all when I accelerate and when i don't it still turns very little.. too bad, the game looks nice..

Well, I have mixed feelings about this game...
When NFSU first came off, It came out of blind to me, didn't see it coming, nor I was into the tuning culture, so everything was new and so cool. But now, being more of a Gearhead, I don't, know, it's not the same appeal anymore.
There are budget games like Street Legal which, even being crappy, allow so much customization and fiddling with the car, and NFS feels so... arcadey...
I am sceptical to the performance tuning stuff that they're doing, I honestly don't believe they'll get it *right*.
The game IS really cool though, I liked it. Just thought they'd do it differently, maybe I had too much high hopes. It seems to be a very polished game, after all....
