8800GT 512MB = 170-190EU
and the new 9600GT is a little cheaper I think.

Not really. Their cards have terrific h264 hw acceleration, which is unraveled by anything nV has to offer. True, they suck at almost everything else, but for htpc they are great (and cheap).

Yes get a 8800 GT or GTX if you can find one cheaply, I managed to find one for the same price as the new 9600GT which by the way is inferiour to the 8800GT.

XFX's 8800GT 512MB DDR3 640mhz Core XXT (or XT) edtion: 237€/$ (depends of the shop)
best card out there...low PSU consumption, nice stock fan n it's design, can run all games 2 MAX (except weirdy CRYSIS)
More info: http://www.xfxforce.com/web/product/listConfigurationDetails.jspa?series=GeForce%26trade%3B+8800&productConfigurationId=1558712

Thanks for the quick replies, lads.
Any specific make to look out for with the 8800 GT? DV2 said XFX's, is it much better?
Also, I've only got a PSU of 350W, so I suppose that needs upgrading as well? Is it much work to change it? Never done it...

I've got the 8800GT from XFX bcz seems more cooler n has more guarantee thingy..also compared to others it comes with COMPANY OF HEROES (Point Of View version comes with nothin' but manual n stuff...ASUS comes with COHEROES OPPOSING FORCE,but up 2 how much money ya wanna use)
About the PSU,get a Modular one...it's easy really, just remember where all the Motherboard components were at,including CD/DVD,Floppy Disk and Hard Drive Devices..also Modular ones are also easy bcz you connect the stuff you only need,so there's more space in the case and the airflow flows better..
The PSU removal/installation's piece of cake..as i said, disconnect all the components from MotherBoard and Devices and at the back of the tower check for 4 screws that goes united with the PSU...Unscrew 'em and remove the PSU..then put the new one and mount the whole deal.
Have a nice day...
If you need more help contact me at DV2THEFOX@HOTMAIL.COM via MSN or Mail..or just keep postin' 'ere..

then comes sli vs crossfire, 2x 3870x2 is faster than 2x 9800x2 and costs less.
+ crossfire has less issues

Multi card setups, ATI blows SLI out of the water.
