not a sata drive but a 2.5" ide drive.
maplin in the uk sell a cable cheaply, dunno bout canada tho but they are widely available

I guess I'm not having much luck searching because I don't know the exact name ... and for the few that I can find I'm not sure if it's compatible ... the amount of data I want to recover are a couple hundred pics from 2-3 folders that I can really live without ... so there is only so much cost I'm willing to incur.

I have done this many times using a 2.5" enclosure with a USB connection.
