Well, usually when people ask for movie recommendations you hear the usual movies that are popular around that time, and perhaps some old classics. And if you're lucky, someone recommends a more unknown movie, that ends up being awesome.

I just recently checked out Waking Life and I had NEVER heard of it, none of my friends either, and it turned out to be real awesome.

So I thought, hey, why not? If you know some good new (doesn't have to be new, but lets go from the year 2000+) movie, preferably from 2007-2008 that hasn't had much advertising or is just more unknown, please recommend it here!

I actually don't know if Waking Life ever was very known, but I had never heard of it and I like to think that I keep check on movies that come out, but I have a tendency to miss gems that don't stand out to much.

I've seen all the popular new movies so that's why I made this thread. My recommendation is for Waking Life for the moment, gonna see another movie I got from a friend now that I had never heard of, might post that one too if it ends up being good.

Waking Life - http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0243017/

And oh, yeah, I remembered another pair I recently saw (no idea if these were popular, I had never heard of them until now so might not be unknown):
A History of Violence - http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0399146/
Fracture - http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0488120/
The Pursuit of Happiness - http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0454921/ (This one made me feel so fucking happy, AWESOME!)

The Lookout is from 2007 and is a little pearl of a movie. It stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who is in a nasty car accident in his prime years as a hockey player. After the accident he is unable to remember things for too long. He lives with a blind friend played by Jeff Daniels, and works at a bank. Synopsis doesn't say much (it's the way that it is told that is great), but this is one really charming movie with interesting and likeable characters that you will remember long after watching it.

Also, if you're into intelligent comedies, I can recommend Dedication (2007).

More to come later, I'm off to work shortly.

One of the better rap oriented films. I'm normally not a huge fan, but this one is really cool IMO.

if your naming required korean movies, you missed musa. and to be honest, if it were up to me, it put you to death for that crime Razz hands down the best movie ever to make it outa korea, followed closely by taegukgi, which is probably the best war movie ive seen (definately puts that saving private ryan rubbish in its place...)
