The Shield's a wonderful shows as well, just completely different from The Wire. If you plan on watching the Shield, obviously start with S1 and let it run for a few episodes before judging it. It starts a bit low but get better and better.

I remember watching this when I was younger, was one of my favourite shows Too bad it was canned (as well as Now And Again). And now it seems impossible to find a DVD release of sorts or any subtitles for the show

I found it to be mediocre. Unless it improved a 100% after episode 3, I wouldn't recommend it.
I said it before, anyone looking for a new show to watch should really give Mad Men a try. The Guy who created it also wrote for The Sopranos. The best show of 2007 imo.

If you're into Documentary type shows:
Deadliest Catch
Man Vs Wild,
Survivorman
BBC: Tribe(aka Going Tribal)
Living with the Mek
Unreported World
Long Way Down and Long Way Round
Japanorama
Penn and Teller: Bullshit
Engineering an Empire
Cites of the Underworld
If you're into horror at all you might want to check out Masters of Horror seasons 1 and 2, somewhat hit and miss as far as episodes go but if you're a fan of the genre its worth checking out.

Stargate SG1 is for one of the best Sci-Fi TV shows. Before SG1 i watched ST enterprise and it's not even close to SG1.
S1 to S8 is awesome. S9 sucks and S10 is not bad.

I finished watching all seasons of The Wire. Fucking awesome show! Great actors and characters created by them, interesting plot and a nice view on the "gangsta life" in B-more.
I've got a question tho - how's the irish funeral "song" called? I think some punk group did a cover on it (Rancid perhaps?) and i would like to get it.
Need hlp pplz.
EDIT : There is also a cool song that sounds similar and is played in one of The Shield episodes. I looked at the The Shield song list. Could it be Flogging Molly - If I Ever Leave This World Alive?
