Apple's support is da shit!

So, last friday I kinda busted my Ipod Classic. Fell out of my pocket onto the carpet - height was about half a metre (that's about 20 inches for all you imperial system lovers out there Very Happy )
After that, I couldn't switch it on anymore - my first thought was 'boy, you're seriously fucked' - nevertheless looked online at apple's support, tried to reset the ipod and what not nothing worked so i contacted the support and stated my problem (I neglected to say that it fell down...) so and they told me they'd be sending me packaging to send it to them.
Monday afternoon the stuff arrived, sent it back with UPS the same day.
Tuesday 15 o'clock I got a email that they were trying to figure it out.
Around 18 o'clock they sent me an email telling me they'd be sending me a replacement.
Today they shipped it with UPS express - which means I should have it in the next 2 days.

Damn those guys are freaking quick, i love 'em Very Happy

When I look at a friend of mine who bought a Dell notebook at the end of last year, whose graphics card died - he's been waiting for two weeks now for a technichian (sp?) with a replacement - and that with a product that he paid over 2000 bucks for.

Whatever, just wanted to promote apple's support and say that I'm happy to get it back (even if it isn't mine but a new one)

with support like that, you'd think they'd use a decent mail carrier. I'd half expect your ipod to be broken when you got it.

I got some stuff delivered by UPS over the years and never had any problems with them and I never heard of people having problems with them - maybe the german branch just works more thorough and carefully? Very Happy nah, just kidding. I'm just kind of astonished that that's through in less than a week - never had that happen to me with any other support

that actually might be the case, the UPS's around here really only hire people with no life, no future and no self respect. I'm sure they see it as they have no chance in hell getting a job anywhere else so they'll never quit on them. Wonder where our highschool drop outs work? UPS.

I'm sure there is not even close to enough jobs at UPS to support all the high school drop outs in the US, given the graduation rate is under 50% Wink

I'm not a fan of UPS because they charge a fucking ridiculous amount of money to deliver to Canada from the US...

We have a pretty huge hub here in my city. I had a buddy who worked there ( too lazy to get a real job) and I was amazed at all the low life people I knew who was working there.

then dell sucks!, my son stepped on the charger to his toshiba laptop and there was a cracking sound, it looked okay but wouldnt charge the laptop.

they sent a courier to pickup the laptop who had to take it to london and it was back again within 2 days.

sucks that they had to take the whole laptop but atleast there were quick

I have never had to use my warrenty. If I get into a jam usually the apple guys tell me what to do and usually the solution is quite simple.

That is why I like the mac.

Good to know they treated you good.
