5$fee for download WTF? if your buying something you shouldnt have to pay extra for bandwidth, fuck that shit its a subscription based game.
every other mmo lets you download for free
guess everyone will just buy the retail version then because im assuming that extra 5 dollars to download is only if you buy online?

Well lets say you are going to pay 15 bucks for 30 days .. they charge you 5 for 10 days. How exactly is that a ripoff ? They add the time when the game goes retail so you're not even paying for beta.

and if you preorder from amazon.com you receive the in-game Amazon Curved Bow, a hardcover mini-guide to the Conan universe written by Roy Thomas.
and an opportunity to participate in the AgeofConan.com 3-day Early Access Program
so u might get the 3 days head start or not? i'm quite confused

hmm ... not at release no ... only 6 -12 months later ....
WoW wasnt free to download (or downloadable at at all), neither were most (if not all) other PAY 2 PLAY mmo's.
edit: AND YOU GET 10 DAYS PLAYTIME FOR THOSE 5 Bucks .... a month is usually 15 bucks , so you don't pay anything more than usually lol.

You get 10 days of playtime with the preorder, which costs you 5$.
Then after you upgrade your account to the full version you get a free month of playtime.

After watching every single clip about this game i started to lose my interest to LOTRO....
Age Of Conan definitely a killer to any MMO today! Period!

Lets hope its not Hy-Boring-ian Adventures then huh... I will try it out, but i went back to wow after maxing levels and items in Lotro.. still plenty to play just stop paying and go to another one for a few weeks etc etc.. seems to be what most do these days for variety.

well i probably have to throw in the towel there and agree, it does have a bit of everything.. but i think if it had the more silly things like housing etc etc then it would prob keep going alot longer again.. im sure they wont stop expanding it for a while either.. its to much of a gold pot for them.

I dont understand why people want stuff like housing in games like AoC or WoW.
I mean you get a house which is probably instanced for every player then you sit in your house and do exactly what??
BTW i really hope AoC doesn't suffer from being also developed for xbox.
I mean stuff like invisible walls, zone based linear world, no targetting based healing.
This all says console in my mind.

Oh gee not invisible walls like Guild wars ? surely not, that game is odd as a mmo really, its not open ended scenery wise enough for my liking, i guess plenty do like it like that though..

Theres not that many invisible walls, i was actually surprised at the freedom of the world, yes its not one big world but made up of zones, but thats how most mmo's are these days.
Conan is looking really great, has a fun combat system and some great classes, i love the healing classes, they all have a nice kickass attitude and none of that stupid healbot behaviour.
wait and see, this game will bring alot to genre.
oh and theres an option to show nipples:O thats win

Yeah I have it installed currently and it's at 27.7 GB so far. Wasn't that big till they released some new patch this week.

so is it the game pretty cool? make some comparisons to WOW.
I'm really only playing wow right now for the PVP, I don't do instances or raids, however I do enjoy pve'ing, just not much in WOW anymore
just watched the tech demo and some others, this game looks amazing visually for a mmo
edit: nvm I see how it is, looks freaking awesome, I can't believe I havnt seen much of this game, the combat looks so cool, much like oblivions. I hate the typical mmo's where you just target someone and button mash until their dead. ill be defiantly getting this game when its out.

If this game releases in May like they plan then it's going to be a disaster. Gonna be like Anarchy Online all over again. Something different that could have been cool but plagued by terrible performance and technical issues. In a year or two they will fix it but it will be too late. AO all over again. Funcom makes cool single player games but they don't need to be making MMOs.

Well... after doing the tech test today... took me over 1hr 45 minutes to get into the game. Had issues with everything from the patcher to the login server.
Once corrected, I was finally able to log in and have my first look at the game.
I actualy diud what I was supposed to do for the test while still running around and playing.
As for the game, I have to say I personally was a bit underwhelmed. The graphics were nice enough and the music was killer. the voice acting wa some of the best i have ever heard.
BUT, the game play... i had an overwhelming sensation of "meh". Not that it was bad mind you. . . but i just didn't see anything really innovating. the enemies AI was pretty non existant. Killing still involves the same tactics as any other MMO game... find a group and pull them away one at a time. these are supposed to be human characters (though i did fight apes and some snake like critters and a few demons). I would expect if they were in viewing range of seeing you kill their buddies, they would rush to their aid... but nope. As long as your out of their aggro range, your fine. Just like any other mmo.
I'll probly still get it when it comes out. But, i surely didn't see anything that toally blew me away or made me anxiosuly await the release for it in my (granted brief) time with the game. In fact, i think i was more stoked for the game before i played it. If they have the same issues at launch that they had today, they are going to be in trouble.
Now, if i could just get a chance at Warhammer.
