The only way would be to use the scroll wheel for this (like -afair- in splinter cell), unless they fixed this in the now available final version, last time i checked such a thing wasn't there in the AC half-assed press release. |
Hold right mouse button?

Why the hell would you go up there?
And about the speed...
Defeauld is walk, there is run and sprint.
Even if you use thumbstick he can't walk any slower.
He'll just walk like a retard.

These "lifebars" remind me of Zelda Ocarina Of Time (Nintendo64). ^^
In Zelda you collect quarterhearts (sorry for bad english) to get more heart energy. Here you do bonus missions to achieve extra lifebars.
Well, nevemind. ^^

Should have kept them in. Now some dumb kiddie will see none and think they were removed, then come here and complain after being disappointed.

Well, my pre-order came today, runs shitloads better than the pre-release, sounds are now in-time to the action, and less slowdown on busy scenes.
Worth the money, excellent conversion from Ubi.

For some reason, my PC seemed to have a ridiculously hard time with AC. I have a 2Ghz dual core, 2gb memory and an 8800GTS, but even on 1024x768 with all the effects on the lowest possible settings, it still never ran perfectly smooth.
About the ending
Spoiler: | That fucking sucked. They could have at least hinted at what those dots on the globe meant, or about those guys who tried to rescue you from the lab. This plain sucked. Anti climactic. |

Those dots on the globe represent other pieces of eden, I thought this was obvious.

PCGH: What are the technical advantages of that API?
Charles Beauchemin: DirectX 10 enables us to make fewer calls to the API to perform the same actions. Therefore, it will be possible for the drivers to make optimizations making the game faster without any change to the game engine. Since most of the DX10 drivers are still young, we can expect a lot of gain to come from the optimization of these drivers.
PCGH: Do you use advanced features of Direct X 10/Shader Model 4 like Geometry Shader, Virtual Texture Management etc.? Can you please give examples how they are utilized? In what way do these features improve or simplify the rendering process?
Charles Beauchemin: No. Most of the porting to DX10 involves optimizations of the existing calls, without any new content.
PCGH: Will the DX 10 visualization differ substantially from the graphics that are rendered with DX 9 hardware? What are the visuals that can only be rendered with shader model 4 hardware? Can you supply us with a visual proof via screenshot too?
Charles Beauchemin: No new content has been added to the DX10 version.
PCGH: How much of a performance hit will the improved optics of DX 10 incur? With all details maxed out is a typical first gen DX 10 card already running at its limits?
Charles Beauchemin: No performance hit occurs, since no improved optics are implemented. However, when running on Vista, DirectX 10 version speed will be much faster than its DirectX 9 counterpart (also running on Vista).
So basically absolutely nothing new and only useful if you have Vista without a dual-boot, why would I play there if can play under xp and get better fps whilst looking the same.

I agree with Cartoon. Especially the jumping over obstacles, there's a short delay. The horse makes a full stop, jumps, and then continues running. Ocarina of Time had it down better than this. :lol

Odd that its true. I remember playing the beta or unfinnished/nuked version and the climbing animations where perfect near enough yet the horse ones sucked.

Have u ever ridden a horse and jumped ?
I think they were trying to implement the pause a horse sometimes does before a jump, watch some horse jumping on some video site or sometihng ffs, you will get the horse making the final decision wether to go or not to go lol. sometimes they even stop and then hop over huge heights.
So no its not horrible its just the way it is. Failing that have a word with your horse of maybe give it a sugar cube eh..
Doy!

Did you not pay attention to the story at all while playing and just run around and stabbity stab people? It was all pretty obvious.
Spoiler: | The people trying to save you were assassins. Lucy is working with them as shown when she flashed the gang sign of no ringfinger.. Altair has no ringfinger if you notice in game.. it allows his blade to work better.
The dots were quite obvioulsy the other artifacts since that is why you were being held in the first place. The orb you find in the game is destroyed in the Denver accident so they need another one.. which is why they are going into peoples genetic memories. |
I do agree that the horse jumping had a stutter to it but the rest of the animations of it were freaking perfect. I really like the giddyup and woah sounds Altair makes when controlling it. Running and walking and turning were all spot on perfect.. just the stutter jump was kinda lame. I wish you could swing to both sides instead of just the left side too. Other than that it was great.
Overall I give the game an A+ though. My only complaint is that combat was too easy. Killing like 12 dudes at once was silly. No reason to run and hide when you could slay everyone.
