it's more a tech demo than most, so basically crysis. The story is fun but it's hard to get into because they keep hopping you all over the place. The game was obviously dumbed down for...ya...you guessed it. None the less, even with my high standard in games, I even enjoyed this for quite a few hours.

I will give UBI credit for one thing that a lot of dev's have been failing with, they pulled off the horse riding very well.

None the less, I'd give it maybe a 7, a give it a try score, you'll either be amused then get bored with it, or you'll just be bored with it. But the first few hours are rewarding.

Tech demo for sure, but this tech demo actually impressed me. The wall climbing and jumping on rooftops feels so natural. Remember the days where you had to be on that precise pixel, or the just won't be a success? Well, here I just tap the button and point to the general location, and all is well.

I hope they use that engine for the next Prince of Persia games.

Good is in the eye of the beholder. To me, it's a great game.

I think he means good as in Grim fandango, Tomb raider, Half Life, Deus ex etc

The benchmark games are getting further and further apart in release. We get one every 2-3 years now instead of 1 every year or so. And to make things worse, we now dont get full package games often either (games which have awesome graphics, awesome story and awesome gameplay a'la half life). We just get games which have one of the components and lack everything else, such as Crysis and its graphics, Bioshock and its story etc

The next big games are going to be Half life 3, Starcraft 2, POSSIBLY fallout 3 but we will see if the new devs are gonna fuck it up.

What? Bioshock had great graphics, great gameplay and an incredible story. That game was a sheer masterpiece. I wouldn't put AC quite that high but it's really close. The only valid gripe I see is that the gameplay is repetitive but that was okay to me because it was fun. Running up and down and across buildings, shoving people around, shanking people in the back. It was great. The graphics were great, the gameplay was fun and the story was interesting.. the open end leading into the sequel annoys me only because I can't wait for the next one. Evil or Very Mad

I hate HL. Seriously. Laughing Can't pinpoint why exactly, but I hate it. So, again, good is in the eye of the beholder. And I do think this game is a benchmark game. Maybe not for its story or AI, but for platforming and open world.

And BioShock had a bad story but nothing else? Laughing Buy some glasses (strange because you managed to see Crysis graphics)...

The thing which stops me from going back to the freaking game is the freaking cutscenes.

Can't believe the idiocy of UBISOFT, they better fix this in a patch or something, but then again UBI dosen't really release patches.

Can anyone tell me is there any way to play this game with this pad. It just seems that this game require 15 buttons or more Sad

I have this Logitech's pad which is pretty good copy of old Playstation's pad.

Keyboard + mouse isn't so bad but I'm so confused with 100 different buttons and actions why couldn't they make some button combos or something. Mad

+1

must be because i seem to be a direct and pure descendant of the glory pc master race.
i never touch a gamepad, unless its more precise controlstick is actually needed (e.g. racing game)

Hi, i know a new thread was created for the black bars subject but this is a different message on the subject. Sorry if it was posted before.
Someone found a workaround.

All you haters out there (yes, that's you LeoNatan and your minions) will have to find something else to hate, besides people with 4:3 monitors. But don't despair, maybe it wont work for everyone.

What are you talking about? Of course you'll see somewhat different, but nothing aside from the hud will be stretched (granted it works, haven't tested it Razz)
So to me this sounds like something the devs should have implemented themselves, so what are you talking about!?

And why should they? They intended the game to be played as 16:9 game. You don't like it? Don't play the game.

yayaya
I kinda agree, although i don't think that this game is noticeably better played in 16:9 and implementing other ratios is probably quite easy...
BUT we should not continue to walk down this dark path again or soon we'll see a new thread with the title:
Quote:
TeH B² Strikes Back!

or maybe this discussion will just be appended to the other extracted B² discussion, but that would be less frightening so lets not imagine that.

Looks like AC is using DX10.1 functions. Smile
(Might be interesting to ATI 3xxx users with Vista and SP1 installed.)

EDIT: Perhaps it would be better to say that it appears that AC is making use of DX10.1 functions.
