The gun shop on the first island was available after quite an early mission - theres only one thing to do - keep playing:)

Thinking the same... I heard some accounts have been blocked/deleted by MS because of gamerpoint cheats... but this is different tho. Iv never used a cheat code on a 360 before.. :\

Opinions differ, but there shouldn't be any noticeable difference. Component is more sensitive for EM fields, but the Xbox cable is insulated good enough.
What's the big deal with achievements? Do you get something for completing those? Gonna buy me an Xbox tomorrow.

Save - new slot - cheat and play away.
When you want to continue playing on your old save, just load the previous slot. Not so hard, is it?

They aren't?
That is really lame -- it has a stats part to remember how many times you've cheated. If you reload a save before you cheated wouldn't that still be at zero and not count against you?

i meant obviously not, cheats are NOT going to carry over to untouched previously saved gamesaves, that would be impossible.

it is quite possible that R* disabled the achievements for your gamer profile in general. Therefore saving wouldn't help you.
the only way around it is to use a different Xbox profile totally, then cheat.
