Well...
I took my 360 and GTA over to a buddies house on Saturday night. After leaving there, we closed the pub out. I got home and my buddy hands me my xbox - I notice the bag is wet. I reach inside and my xbox is wet as well. After further inspection i notice there is ice cubes in the bag. My power brick and console are both wet. There doesn't seem to be a lot of water as when the xbox was turned none leaked out. The question is --- how much longer do i wait to plug it in. I am feeling pretty lazy. I know the best bet would be to take it apart and verrify there is no water in there. I think i might just wait another day or two, but right now that is incredible hard with GTA.
/end rant
What do you guys think?

Just put it in a dry warm place for a few days. If you don't mind opening it up do that as well. It may even work right now as no water leaked out of it but be on the safe side.

I spilt an entire coke on my first 360. I just let it sit for 2 days, worked like a charm.

Can't a hairdryer hurt the hardware?

does the sun hurt your head? sometimes. Does the sun hurt your XBOX? no
therefor it will not hurt your XBOX |
I think he was wondering more along the lines of does it shock the components. Also, a hair dryer certainly can hurt the plastic stuff as i already melted where the power button is removing the warranty sticker. The difference between a console and your head is when it hurts you stop. The console can't say -- "Ouch man, stop it!"

Edit:
I think i am going to plug it in tonight. It happened saturday night around 3AM. However, my house hasn't been super warm lately so i am a little worried about that.

Yup, we were playing at the time, and bumped over a glass of coke. But i instantly turned off the power and unplugged everything, as i was getting a towel to soak up the rest of the pop, but those little vent holes were completely filled with pop.

I might get it on the ps3, is that version better. I'll have to be sneaky though. I don't want my daughter playing it and it's her machine.

ive been playing it for 2 days and based on what ive seen of my friends copy (xbox copy), it preforms way better. on my buds copy, there were slowdowns when you drive to fast or there are to many cops on the screen
I have yet to have a problem with my version (PS3)

Might get it then. I mean i'll have to play it when she's at school. Can't have her seeing them shagging in cars. She's already started asking questions. Shit won't be long before the boys start knocking on the door. It's all downhill from there.

Yeah, go for the ps3 version. btw, its an awesome fuckin game. Lots of swearing and drug use, which id say is inappropriate for you daughter. after all, this is one of the few truly adult games around.
And when the boys come knocking, thats when you say " if you touch, kiss or do anything to upset my daughter, i will cut your balls off", with a knife in your hand of course.
When my niece (she's more like my little sister, we're close) comes of that age (which will be in the next 1-3 years), the guys they wanna date are getting something similar to what i told you to say lol I;d prefer her not to date till she's atleast 17

You can't upset nature. I mean I'll watch over her and if I think a boy is just intending to take advantage of her, then he'll wish he's never been born. A knife, more like a rusty spoon.

Like I said at her age she can do anything if you stop her she'll hate you for it. It's her life, you just have to guide her in the right direction.
