|
 |
Hi, my motherboard it's named GA-P31-DS3L. I have 2x1GB of those http://www.geilusa.com/products/show/id/52 , and recently buyed another kit exact like that i have. When i put the new kit buyed, it blocks at boot screen. My question is if i can populate 4 DIMM sockets with double-sided memory modules ? I've tryed to give them 0.3v+ but not a single chance, has booted once.. but didn't detected the other two modules. Please if you can help me with something post, if you have something to tell regarding my english, don't post, i'm sorry for it, but i don't know it very well. Thanks, SpitFire.
P.S: I've maked update bios, not a single chance.

Quote: | Because of chipset limitations, do not populate both DIMM sockets of the same channel (e.g. DDRII1 and DDRII2), or populate 4 DIMM sockets with double-sided memory modules to prevent system's failure to start or incorrect detection of memory modules. Please refer to the user manual for the memory configurations table. |

not sure what else you can do as you've already tried giving them more power.
could try relaxing the timings and make sure it's set to 2t
good luck

Boot your computer with only the new memory installed to make sure the modules are not defective. I seriously doubt that that's the issue but you never know.
You could try underclocking your memory in the bios with a 5:4 divider but there's not much else you can do to fix this issue. There are some firmware updates for your board which mention improved ddr2 compatibility but that is not the problem here.
Instead of selling try to trade your 4x1G modules for 2x2G ones.
