Ever since I installed XP3 (couple days ago) I can no longer put my PC into standby mode.

I click the option for it and the PC goes into standby for about 1 sec and then just starts back up and brings me to the desktop again (HD's never even stop spinning before it starts up again).

Any ideas?

Try reinstalling the motherboard drivers. Perhaps SP3 installed its own drivers, which is the case of usually not going into stand by.

I had similar issue in vista, so who knows maybe it's the same problem here :
go to device manager -> mouse properites and uncheck "allow this device to bring the computer out of stanby".

That was it! Very Happy

I got no clue how that ever got checked, I blame SP3 completely.

Thanks.
