|
 |
This is the nudered version of imdbil, a code fork open for requests from this forum.
In short, the program gets a list of recent movies off Nforce, goes to IMDB and gets their ratings. You get a list of movies sorted by ratings. If you right click an element in the list, you'll get a little menu, which links you to IMDB site for the movie.
This might not be very accurate, in fact the entire program might break any minute, not to mention how bug infested it is already. You've been warned.
Oh, I also added movie genres, so you can choose a good comedy without needing to go to imdb. Whatever. Tell me about bugs you find, take screenshots. I'll fix em. I'll also add custom settings if there's enough interest (ie if enough people bug me ), and support for custom trackers if someone wants it.
This version is torrent-free, as per request of the moderators.
Here's a screenshot:
Download Program (windows binary)
Download Source (multiplatform)
Source requires the lestest version of Python and wxPython. The executable (unless I forget some DLL) requires nothing. Happy humping!

Can't sticky that because of the torrent links. Remove that and just have the rating systems and I'll sticky it.

Poorleno
You should also do one for usenet. The torrent one is cool, but a usenet one is awesome. same type of search parameters but for usenet you know? is that even possible?

Ah, I was afraid that would be an issue. It's homebrew for my friends who did the featurelist, but I don't want it sticked anyway, cause it'll die. :d

Jenni removed links, because it violated some rules.

Do you think you could integrate this with Newzbin too?

btw, is there a way to see the release type?? As you are grabbing it from nforce, you could parse the *XVID* or *R5¨* as well ?

While linking to a torrent is illegal enough for here, I cannot see linking to a newzbin post or nzb file too bad - but then again, Jenni, what do you think?

I don't see what's the difference between newzbin or TPB to be fair. And yes, it's very easy. I think there should be some way.. like a link to a link, so everyone's satisfied...
Spankie - yes of course, that would be real simple to do. I just simplified it all a bit to calling a release in DVD-r section "a movie in a good quality".

Seems like a nice app. Not really interested in the torrent feature but latest movies with ratings is great.

Still against the rules Horror. Any linking to illegal material puts the site at risk.
Besides he'd have to put in a username and password routine to access NZB.

Can't you just rip it off binsearch.info?

I've nudered the offensive material away, and now the program displays tags, because someone wanted it that way. If you have any ideas just post here and i'll add them if they make sense.
I'd add newsgroups search, but I don't think that's allowed either. \ó/

it should work like it is, if you get an error message post it here. I might have forgotten to include some DLL.

That's just silly. First of all it's microsofts own C runtime library and should be included every OS they make it stands to reason; but then I did put it in. I guess vista is doing something silly, although it should work. ;/
