So which version will work and bypasses WGA and you can update all the updates afterwards, ETH0 or TEAM Z.W.T. Are they both really final releases? Do they both bypass activation? Are there any final versions out there that you don't have to input any cd-key?

I don't know why but the ETHO release has the old media player and internet explorer 6. It also seems kinda buggy. It does take the updates but I think I'm going back to SP2 until this release in fixed.

The ZWT release is the real McCoy. I've just run a SHA1 on the ZWT iso & it corresponds to the SHA1 given by MS for the VLK edition of the integrated XP SP3:

Date Posted (UTC):5/2/2008 12:05:18 AM
SHA1:66ac289ae27724c5ae17139227cbe78c01eefe40
ISO/CRC:FFFFFFFF
589.14 MB

All I'm saying - and the SHA1 supports this - is the ZWT release is a genuine MS ISO.

Microsoft.Windows.XP.with.Service.Pack.3-ZWTiSO

By the way, which is diference betwen "corporated" and "retail"?

The ZWT release is a VL (Volume Licence) or "Corporate" edition. All versions of XP need a valid key and/or some way of getting around the activation & WGA checks.

The VL or Corporate edition is the one used by companies installing the OS on many machines whereas the Retail version is the one you buy in a store. The OEM edition is installed & preactivated by large system builders like Dell, HP, etc. Working keys for any given edition will not work with another edition, so, if you have a retail key it will not be accepted by the install of a VL edition of the OS, and so forth.

I just grabbed the ZWT release and will give it a try tonight. Hopefully it's better that the ETHO release. ETHO releases are usually good but it seems not this one.

If you're installing the ZWT release & don't have a VL key it may be worth your while doing a search for the XP Pro Student edition key. That's a VL key & should work flawlessly without any other intervention, though I've never used it myself.

The ETH0 releases of XP with SP3 are "home made" by slipstreaming an earlier XP with SP3. That leaves redundant junk in the ISO which will be bigger than the much "cleaner" MS/ZWT offering.

When I install XP3 after awhile my browser (Opera or IE) crashes and immediately crash afterwards when I open it and it connects to a page. Same with firefox. After two fresh installs I got sick of this happening so I'm gonna hold off "upgrading" Now I'm back to SP2 and my comp hasn't had that issue for a week.
