We never got Speed Racer in the UK (the series that is), pretty big in other parts of the world though I believe. I remember Joey and Chandler had a poster up in their appartment in Friends.
No advertising.

Saw it last night. I really enjoyed it actually. It was a bit too kiddish at times (well it is a kid's movie) but the racing scenes were great and the visuals were well done. It's really all about the visuals. If you don't like the style, you'll hate the movie. The trailers are really poor compared to the movie. Another case of poor advertising.

i actaulyl have done a full 180 on this film, and am really looking forward ot it after reading some reviews and watching some new clips. the kid stuff wil suck but the visual shit will be awseome.

gotta say, after having seen it, i fully admit i was kinda wrong... posted my thoughts/review in the last watched movies section... had a few problems and weak bits, but i admit when im wrong and was wrong about this - i actually enjoyed it, which surprised the hell outa me.
i also did a complete turnaround on the visuals and style of the film... theyre simply awesome... this is a live action anime, its supposed to look synthetic and false, which totally ads to the overall look and feel of the thing... cant wait for it in hd.
