Are you using CoreAVC™ Professional Edition or just the free one? It looks like Pro has the h/w support.

Confused How can this be? I had no problem playing most 1080p on my old 4000+, only the most bitrate intensive rips would lag. With an FX60, it should just fly, even without the acceleration.

Now, about hw acceleration, basically the 8800GTX + 8800(old)GTS acceleration sucks, nothing special. The new 8600/8800 cards have the much better acceleration, and yet it sucks big time in comparison with the AMD cards.

w00t!

Core AVC Pro did the trick! Also, it allows me to configure the color range output. The only problem with that is....... It still didn't fix the black crush effect from dvi -> hdmi.

lcd's also has a lamp that you can see shining on the screen, it's called the backlight which totally rapes dark scenes. Razz
Is it even possible for a lcd to display black?
And I had a question about this backlight. Doesn't this backlight take the average luminance level of the current szene completely eliminating contrast between dark and bright?

At the moment i would never go near a lcd tv. My friend got one, he likes is so its fine, but i would never use such a thing...

Mine doesn't have any backlight bleed through. A lot of lcd's do, a lot don't. It's also called the flash light effect. heheheh.

The black crush that i am referring to happens because the computer outputs a broader color range then the tv can handle.
