FFX was a piece of shit game and the only FF I have ever played that I never finished because I turned it off and NEVER played it again. I played and beat 1-9 and ever since 10 I have yet to play another final fantasy out of fear that it will be just as bad. I also lost any hope left for it lingering in the back of my head when X-2 came out which destroys the very name Final Fantasy. |
I've been playing the FF series since I was ten years old, with FF1 on the NES. If you dislike FFX, then you're not a true fan. FFX was the last decent FF title made, before Hironobu quit the company and founded MistWalker. FFXII is trash, not FFX.
But hey, it's personal opinion. I prefer FFX greatly over the first 3, and the overhyped shite that is VII. For me it's VIII/VI/X in that order, as the Top3. |
If you liked that garbage then your a fanboy and not just a fan. As for Hironobu he should have committed Seppuku after its release.
I borrowed a PS2 from a friend to play it years ago and not only did the story not intrigue me at all. The game felt like it was a complete straight away. That stupid sports mini game was annoying. The characters were uninteresting. The only thing I liked was the graphics and thats clearly what the game was all about.
FF X was so bad that I only got to the scene where they start laughing in a robotic type way and that clip felt like it lasted for 5 damn minutes. After it I blinked a few times and then just shut it off.

Quote: | GI: Thank you for setting down with us, Jeremy. Let's get right down to the point. You have been the composer for Bethesda's previous two hits, The Elder Scrolls Morrowind and Oblivion. Among many other things, both were critically acclaimed for their amazing soundtracks. Recently, Bethesda released several audio clips of Fallout 3's music, composed by Inon Zur. We, the fans, want to know the real reason you are not scoring the music for the upcoming Fallout 3.
JS: Bethesda did approach me for the Fallout 3 project. I have always been a long time fan of Fallout and Fallout 2, so I was more than excited. I contacted Mark Morgan, the original composer of Fallout, for help on the project. We collaborated and really tried to capture the atmosphere of the originals. I put together several demo tracks for the producers over at Bethesda to preview. They didn't like them.
GI: Bethesda didn't like them? They told you this?
JS: Not directly. What Bethesda wanted was a more epic tone, and one that was on par with their past fantasy efforts and recent shooters. I told them that I didn't feel Fallout was compatible with that kind of music. It's not. It's the complete opposite of what they're doing. Apparently, they didn't like this too much. Executive producer Todd Howard said they would think about it and call me back with an answer. I still haven't received that call.
GI: That's amazing. How are you feeling about it?
JS: I am still a little depressed, to tell you the truth. I loved the original Fallout games, and don't quite know what to expect now. I wish them all the luck with Ion Zerg though.
GI: Inon Zur.
JS: Yes. Good luck to them.
GI: We would like to thank legendary composer Jeremy Soule for this glimpse into Fallout 3! |

Where did you get that from?? This doesn't sound very official. Seems pretty fake.

Seems so, doesn't seem to be on their site though after searching around a bit so perhaps it's in their latest magazine.

So because I enjoyed it, and you didn't, that makes me wrong?
Oh fuck off Ever heard of personal opinion? I'll just bet you're a die-hard FF7 fan, aren't you? |
I liked Final Fantasy X as well. Guess I like being kicked in the nuts over winning the lottery as well. . . all though i have never been kicked in the nuts over and over again. . . nuclearshadow appears to speak from experience. The amount of iloogical thinking and lack of repect for other people's personal oppinions never ceases to amaze me on these forums.
Didn't FFX garner some rather high review scores or is my memory failing me? |
My point entirely. I thoroughly enjoyed FFX and it was released to critical acclaim. It got some amazingly high-scoring reviews and was incredibly fun to play. The biggest gripes about the game are either the SphereGrid (I, myself, dislike that. I missed the typical levelling style) and the English voices. Personally? I liked the voices, but that's just me.
If someone doesn't like a game, fair enough, but to condemn it as "crap" and "anyone that likes that must be a fanboy or stupid" -- is distinctly immature.
The whole point I was trying to make was about FO3 - and how different doesn't mean worse. Yes FO3 is going to be massively different to FO1/2, but does that mean it'll be worse? Not in my opinion -- and at LEAST not until we've all PLAYED it so that we can formulate a LOGICAL opinion.

But concept artwork shows what's going to be in it. And look at those weapons. Way to miss the point Beth.

I'm not saying it will be crap, it will probably be an alright game. But it won't be better, cause it won't be fallout. I've heard enough about it to know that.

As long as Bethesda have learned from their Oblivion mistakes (and they sure as hell learned from the trash that was Morrowind -- as Oblivion, while not perfect, was infinitesimally better than Morrowind) then it's a safe bet that they're not going to destroy a classic. I think, and hope, FO3 is going to be excellent.

Many will disagree with that. I believe Morrowind was far better than Oblivion, it was one of teh greatest RPG's. And as MAsterJuba said, this game will be good for todays standards. Anyone expecting something truly in the Fallout spirit will be disappointed. If it iseven better than the first Fallout, if it turns out to be a classic, people will probably say that after some years. That's how classics work, none is called a "classic" right after release. But first it'll be bashed, just because it'll be different. Most people don't like changes.

I don't think you will be able to compare it to fallout 1-2, because it'll be a very different kind of game. Even if they manage to pull off the story/rpg/world aspect of fallout (which i really doubt because they failed with oblivion, imo), it'll still be an fps action game first.
Remember the original fallout was made in the time where everyone was abandoning turn based strategy and 2D, and i'm afraid the future kids will remember fallout as "that franchise that was like elder scrolls but with guns."
I have no doubt that the developers mean the best. But bethesda as a company needs to make money without risk, and that means they will make a game that is very different from fallout. And thats not better at all, no matter if it becomes a classic.

See this is why no one should listen to you. You prefer the shiny and dumbed down game over the much better gameplay game. No wonder why you prefer FFX its all about graphics and easy games to you.
God forbid you play a game that isn't state of the art graphics and that actually requires thought.

I guess you didn't notice my name did you, moron? If you had, you'd actually be half the fan you proclaim to be.
Graphics over content? Last I looked FFVI didn't have better graphics than anything else... yet I consider that in my Top3 RPGs of all time.
You're pathetic. Don't reply to me again, I'd rather not waste my time reading your filth.
Morrowing was buggier than a shit-house rat and was one of the most boring and empty games I've ever had the misfortune of playing. It has nothing to do with graphics, but content -- and Morrowind has nothing, IMO. I greatly preferred the original Elder Scrolls titles over Morrowshite. Oh yeah, didn't know that I played the originals did you?

No, Morrowind actually had a lot of content. You just had to get past the visuals.
I mean in Oblivion there really wasn't any point in running around and looting caves and the like since all of them pretty much contained the same thing, and their treasure chests would all have crap like lettuce and yarn unless you were at a high level.
In Morrowind, you'd have every reason to go out and explore caves as they actually had content and even their own stories. They didn't feel like auto-generated dungeons. For instance that one cavern where a couple of sorcerers were excavating some daedric ruins.
Also nothing stopped you from finding glass armor from the get go, among other things. There was also limits on the lore which made sense. Like being able to join only one guild and all that.
Oblivion failed in this regard. Oblivion lacked variety, and it simply wasn't an enjoyable experience for me. I mean the damn game wouldn't even let your dude wear a damn skirt. ****. I remember the fun I had with my Orc running around in a skirt outside the Ascadian Isles bashing everyone he came across.
I spent 3 years of my life on Morrowind, in fact I almost failed college thanks to it. Sadly, Oblivion lasted me a month and actually drove me to be an honor student.
Also don't say 'mods make it better', or that you've played previous games. Those are not arguing the fact, but are taking up other issues to distract us from the facts.

I read your god damn name and I simply assumed that ISuckTidusCock was taken. Also don't say "don't reply to me again" while asking questions. Also I never claimed to be as big of a fan as you. I don't jerk off and think about Tidus and Sabin taking turns teabagging me like you do. I WAS just a fan never a fanboy.
Your right Morrowind was buggy. But for such a large and ground breaking game those bugs are understandable and thats what patchs are for. The game was still very playable out of the box. It clearly has something to do with graphics if you prefer Oblivion over Morrowind its the only thing Oblivion had over Morrowind so don't fucking try to lie you way out of this one. I don't care of you played the originals or not you think that makes you cool or actually makes some sort of valid point? Graphics whores are made and not born you were clearly made into one. Of course your kind always have liked stylish things huh? Gotta look fabulous right?
