Hello, I am wandering if after moding an xbox360 is safe to play orginal games online, or we still can be banned for using modified firmwares.
I haven't lost my mind. I know exactly where I left it.

microsoft doesnt allow modding of 360s. they will ban us whenever they see a chance to detect custom firmwares.
each modder knows the advantages and risks of modding. deal with it or start living within the lines....

don't be soft, I've been playing online for years, just check all your disks with mulleter to see if they are patched correctly and live dangerously. If your not going to play online anyway, that's the same as being banned isn't it, nothing to lose

it was a question of curiosity since I had no idea how the banning stuff is working. I just wanted to know if it worth still buying games only for online playing. Anyway if I like something I will buy it.
I haven't lost my mind. I know exactly where I left it.

wont help you.your 360 got a nice homecalling feature which sends inserted media data to m$ when you go online.
so if you play a copyed game offline and a legit one online -> you can still get banned.

You guys know there's a chance your Xbox360 may blow up when banned right? Happened to a friend of mine. Apparently MS send a signal causing the PSU to overload, his house burned down. Don't pirate games, it's dangerous.

I'll ask again, because I didn't get an answer when I asked previously. If I get banned, can I still get demos/patches/dlc from Live?

Unfortunately no. Banned from XBL means exactly that.

So I guess I will be connecting to XBL just for patches and buying DLC then, and play offline. This shit sounds scary, especially with recent console games being dependent on patches and GTA4 DLC for 360.

3:00pm i opened my xbox
4:00pm succesfully flashed firmware
5:14pm assembly complete, boot up go onto live.
5:17pm Swat team enter my house. I am bagged and tagged. I am posting from guantanamo bay.
