Lol he sounds like an M$ employ to me. But anyways xbox > ps only because you can play burned games. (wouldnt wanna burn MSG4 on ten dvds though).

True, but the price on BD burners and discs will have to come down first. Right now, even if there was a hack to play burned games, its just not worth it because of the price. Not really sure on a price of those (only know they are expensive), it will be cheaper to buy the retail game, since ps3 doesnt have that many games yet. It'll be cheaper in a long run.

It IS an overpriced piece of shit. Sony keep butchering the machine, so now it barely plays anything .. what next? A new revision that removes PS3 gaming support so they can drop the price to £300 rather than £350? 
BluRay is too expensive at the moment. PS3 gaming is too expensive -- and that's if you can actually find a handful of games that are worth buying (there's only so much Gran Turismo and Metal Gear that one person can stomach)
In the end, everything comes down to personal opinion. I'm not here to try and change yours -- yet you, and a few others here (Sony employees, perhaps? As Krest intimated about me) are saying it's sex on legs and are doing absolutely everything to force MY opinion to change on the PS3. Why? What are you so blind terrified of? Why does my dislike of a console bother you so much?

While I agree to some content. I mean, if HD-DVD would had won the war, PS3 and Sony would had been dead meat. MS did a good thing to have to have their player external. I do think it's too expensive for a console. But I wouldn't say it's a "piece of shit". For me it's a matter of gametaste to if I would chose a Xbox or a PS3, I love the Final fantasy games and I love Metal Gear. So only that would make my choice easier, while I find GW and Halo fun, it's not enough for me to chose a Xbox. But then again, the price for a Xbox are even cheaper then a Wii nowdays.
for the record: I went for a Wii and are as happy as ever old Nes 8-bit owner as I am.
..and yes SNES ruled and still rules

I'm probably being overly harsh by calling it a piece of shit -- I just dislike fanboys vomiting in my face whenever the subject of the PS3 comes up. It's grossly overpriced (and kindly shut the fuck up with the whole "It's a BluRay player!!!!" bullshit. I don't want a movie player, I want a GAMES MACHINE) and there just isn't enough games out for it, certainly nothing I would consider spending £50 on. What annoys me is how people proclaim the machine to be the God Of Everything. I'm sorry, but I've yet to see ANYTHING on the PS3, or about the PS3, that has made me go "ooooh, I like"
Final Fantasy died with FFX, if you ask me. Once Sakaguchi-san quit, Final Fantasy died. This was proved with the fucking appalling mmorpugur "FFXII" -- and I went off Metal Gear after MGS3 ... "Snake Eater"

Once the price drops (considerably) and some games that actually interest me come out -- and once the system can be modded; I'll get one. Not before.

I do not like fanboysism either. It's like debating on who's dad that is the best. So I agree on that, I really do.
As for FF, I think FFXIII will bring back the old style. Also MGS3, well I just saw that as MGS 2.5 or something. The camera sucked balls in the first version, but the other that got released had a really good camera which made the game enjoyble. 4 is supposed to end the serie so I am really looking forward to that one. But in all honestly I do not see any new game on the horizon on either machines.
oh...yeah I hope the UFC game will be good, but that comes out on either so it won't matter really

I did the same thing with both Xbox1 and PS2 -- I waited a VERY long time after they hit the market before getting one. Same with the 360 I recently got. I'm not a platform fanboy, I'm a GAMES fanboy *laughs* As long as there are games to keep me entertained, then I don't care what platform they're on.

Do you hate opposite of fanboys too (haters)? You seem like you a huge hater, and you are arguing why its sucks with such a passion one might think your live (or salary) depends on how many people you turn away from the ps3, haha. But no, continue, its very amusing.
(A hint for the next topic of why ps3 sucks - six axis, or the difficulty needed to create games on it, unless you already covered these topics).

I heared they said they're going back to the roots from FF7 with FFXIII. They want to make it more storyprogressed and less like a MMORPG. So I have my hopes. Lost Odyssey looks good though!
About games, yes I agree. For me it is the games that will steer. People talk about hardware, HD-DVD, Blu-ray and all that. I don't care as long as I get good games. I bought my Wii because I got gaming fun with that, Mario Galaxies, Zelda, Metroid...all fun games in my eyes, not techincally advanced..but fun
I never got a console from the last generation actually. But I am concidering buying a PS2 actually because it has alot of good games which I haven't tried out or finished. But we'll see, maybe I get a 360 or a PS3, it will all depend on the games. As it is now I have a friend that has a PS3 and we'll have a gaming weekend once MSG4 comes out

I hope you're right! After XI and XII, my hopes for a decent FF title were dashed miserably. I've not yet had the fun of Crisis Core (I accidently-on-purpose demolished my PSP after SNES9x crashed for the fifth time and wiped my 20hr Chrono Cross save) but I'll get around to it eventually.
What you said is pretty much a spot-on plan; Now that the PS2 has been out for a massively long time, it's had chance to build a huge catalogue of titles. Some truly epic, AAA, titles that I couldn't live without. Whereas the PS3 still doesn't have anything that's grabbed me :\ I don't want, nor need, a "HighDef Movie Player!!!!!" -- I want a kick-ass gaming console and a metric shit-ton of awesome games.
As for the Wii, again - I agree completely! My MOM bought herself one a few months back and she loves it. Everytime I go down to see her; I'm playing it too. It's such an ingenious console and so much fun to play. Hell, even the bundled "Wii Play" pack is insane fun! Metroid is excellent, Umbrella Chronicles is excellent .. and I adore the Virtual Console (even if Nintendo has an ungodly idea of what they think classic games are worth these days)
Krest; Yes, I hate the PS3. No I don't get paid to, it's a personal opinion. No I don't hate "haters" -- unless they're hating for the sake of it or to be different. I've given reasons to my dislike, ergo I'm not just hating for the sake of it.

I bought them after i read into all the hype, and the exclusives that are coming up are too good to miss. maybe joke is the wrong word, but the 360 is nearly 3 years into it's life cycle and i'm still seeing games that look not much better than launch/early titles. Infact many of them are looking worse than the likes of Kameo or Gears.
this is probably the stepping stone generation to the proper HD consoles, Proper HD with 60 fps games.

While were at it I'll just put my 2c into this 360 vs ps3 argument. For me ps3 is better choice. I'm not into fps games, so I don't care for Halo or Resistance, sports games are all I'm into on consoles and here free multiplayer tips the scale.

It might not be as good, but the force powers and hopefully the sword fighting might be awesome if they really take advantage of the latests physics, which it seems they've done. Although I can't remember actually seeing any sword fighting yet.
