Depends on the game Smile Grid runs very good at low res, whilst DIRT ran like shit. Optimized engines ftw Smile f.e. CoD4 was great too.

I love adventure games, so I'll try this one.

Thx Leo

Tested both releases on my computer, they both give me the same problem. It may be the crack, it could also be just the game.

Well here is one thing i found on the official boards.

http://masseffect.bioware.com/forums/viewtopic.html?topic=631581&forum=127

Even though it is says for a 8800gt it seems there is problem they know of in these series of cards. It may very well be the compatibility with my card which causes the lock-ups. Man i hope they release a patch soon.

Seems to happen to some while others aren't affected.

Well I am on vista x64 sp1, there are a few issues I have with the game.

Not able to access the galaxy map in the Normandy, possibly related to the crack (as no one seems to have this issue on bioware support forums)

Not able to make manual saves (greyed out save button)(although auto saves seem to work) looks like a problem some people seem to have as well on the bioware forums.

And finally a freeze, resulting in a black screen while background music is still playing with 100% cpu usage, this last problem is something quite a few people seem to have on the bioware support forums.

Btw what is odd is that the freeze problem started occurring after I had been playing fine for a few hours on 1920x1200 with details on high (game looks great), reloading last (auto) save and or starting a new game results in a direct freeze since then.

I get the same problem, lets hope bioware straightens this out. I am off to bed.

I have this problem. It's really fucking annoying. Just lost 20 minutes progress because I can't manually save.

o and guys read the official Bioware forum , many people that bought this game have all sort of different problems so what does Bioware do , waits for the input and then it will release the fist of 4 DLC (they are indications of other 3 in the system files) content with a patch

Its possible but there seem to be plenty of people on xp who have similar problems.

I can imagine the save problem might be vista related, the problem with the galaxy map though I suspect to be crack related and finally the freeze problem seems to be nvidia 8800 series/driver related which can occur on both vista and xp as far as I have understood from bioware forums.

Perhaps the manual save works in certain parts, it's disabled now on the citadel station but I used it in the ship before I entered the station, autosave works but it's a bit inconvenient to rely on it.

Fuck me, cracked already? And what did I say, ha, what did I say you lousy motherfuckers, I told you your fancy protection wouldn't hold out for a week before getting cracked, turns out it was one day, so all you do is harass your costumers this game shouldn't have any protection so it's runs better on all systems like Oblivion, not to mention that online activation, stupid... fucking... idiots.. when will you learn?

Oblivion has a copy protection.
Checking to see if the dvd is in the drive before you start the game is no protection basically it's standard for all games as some of them load stuff from the dvd during the course of playing, it's nothing intrusive like securROm, safedisc, starforce, tages and other shit that can lower games performance and then they have the nerve to bitch to the consumers about it "buy bigger graphic card and quad processor, you need it because our new protection system checks for million things every 10 minutes".

Oh fuck it doesn't have real widescreen support, if you use widescreen resolutions top and bottom is cut off. Hopefully a fix for that soon.

How can someone say it is a stolen crack, if there wasn't any release of any crack. RLD dit not provide any info to conclude it's their crack. RLD smells like bullshit

But according to the PRE bots: RLD is nuked for no proof and DTN remains valid.

OT:
In some level I always have the same crash, I don't remember but I should check it out later.

having the same problem with the galaxy map, im using a 8800GTS and windows XP SP2, i dont get any freezes however. i dont expect that the save problem is actually a problem though, more like you just cant save on the station (but i do remember there being a quick save option, not tried it).

EDIT: using drives 169.04 with no crashes, gonna try 175.16 and see if the map thing is driver related.
