"here is the way all russians play ) and it really works
1) go to MY DOCUMENTS and find folder Mass effect -> Config -> file BIOInput
2) in that file find the line with the word āconsoleā and write new line ConsoleKey=Tilde
here is how it suppose to look like
[Engine.Console]
MaxScrollbackSize=1024
HistoryBot=0
ConsoleKey=Tilde
TypeKey=None
HistoryTop=1
HistoryCur=1
ā¦
3) Here is a list of the planets u gonna type in console in game :
Noveria - AT BIOA_ICE00
Feros - AT BIOA_WAR00
Virmire - AT BIOA_JUG00
Caleston - AT BIOA_LAV00
Ilos - AT BIOA_LOS00
Oculon - AT BIOA_STA00
4) start the game, go to your ship, press ~ , and write planet code on which u would like to fly
5) then wait for a loading screen, well u r on your ship again, but only right next to the planet u typed in console
Haven't tried it yet though.

No need to do the console thing.
When accessing the galaxy map by pressing 'E' just keep on clicking both your left and right mouse buttons. I have no idea why, but it fucking works. lol
Tested it out on my friend's PC (didn't bother getting it since I've already gone through it on the 360) and it's fine. All that's needed now is the save I guess.

How so? I have bought the game once (on the 360) since I was too impatient to wait for the PC version. I have already shown my support for Bioware (heck I bought a 360 for Mass Effect. First a core just to play it, then I stepped up to an Elite cause I felt the core was incomplete. Best buy is good for something sometimes.)
I played through it once so I would still have things to do when the PC version came out.
Its out, protection equivalent to a rootkit is on it and I can afford to make a grand gestrue of boycott since I can simply go to my 360 and re-play it.
I know the PC ui is better since I have played through the Spectre acceptance, but the game is fine on my 360 and I am getting my HDTV in about a week. I even have the Bring down the Sky DLC on my 360 though I have not played it yet.
Now how is that a lousy excuse? I have no reason to buy the PC version (no real reason) since it still has a 7950. The rootkit gives me even LESS of a reason.

found this on another site
"I found out a way to save your game, even with the RLD AND Det crack:
Go to "c:\users\%name%\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect\Config\Engine.ini"
Now look at the following
[Engine.PackagesToAlwaysCook]
//+Package=EngineResources
Package=BIOC_Materials
Package=BIOC_WorldResources
Package=BIOC_VehicleResources
Package=OnlineSubsystemLive <<< Delete this line
Package=EntryMenu
Package=BIOG_UIWorld
Package=GlobalTlk
Package=BIOG_GesturesConfig
Package=Codex
Now, go to BIOGame.ini and:
[BIOC_Base.BioSaveGame]
m_bUseNewSaveSystem=TRUE;
m_bIgnoreDLCRequirements=FALSE; <<< Set this to TRUE
m_fAutoSaveTime=300.0
m_nNumSaveSlots=5;
m_fAutoSaveAttemptDelay=2.0;
m_bFilterCharacterSaves=true
m_bDissableAutoSave=TRUE;
m_nSaveGameSize=4194304
m_bEnableLimitedSaves=FALSE;
m_nMaxSaveGames=999;
m_GameSpecificOptions=OPTION_TYPE_COMBAT_DIFFICULTY;
m_GameSpecificOptions=OPTION_TYPE_AUTO_LEVELUP;
m_GameSpecificOptions=OPTION_TYPE_SUBTITLES;
m_GameSpecificOptions=OPTION_TYPE_TARGET_ASSIST_MODE;

m_GameSpecificOptions=OPTION_TYPE_AUTO_SAVE;
m_srQuickSaveComplete=181127;
m_srQuickSaveFail=181126;
DLC stands for "Download Content" in case you were wondering.
Try it, it works seamlessly. (I'm not sure if the galaxy map works this way though, but worth the try, if it fails, use the cheat to go to other planets as explained above (Thanks))
Edit: Update, You don't need to remove the Online package for this to work"

Ah, to hell with piracy, I finally ran out of patience and bought it through the ea store.
Saving is now possible, galaxymap is fine, DLC comes next.
And some developers really deserve the money.

My guess is the only way we are going to play correctly without problems is buying it, but why do the people that bought it also have the same exact problems. Something is a little fishy here.

They don't. They only have a problem when they use the crack. Or (I am guessing now ) try to load compromised save games from the legit version.

How would you know? Did we ask those users if they are using the crack?
I guess i will be buying the game today. Bioware deserves it anyway.

I'd be buying it if it wasn't owned by EA. So that 50 bucks is going torwards that Dirt racing game instead when it comes out next week.
