With such a powerful tool it's impossible to filter creatures automatically. Human presence is necessary. Since they obviously can't employ people only for the sake of filtering out stuff, they leave it to the players.

But what if a large group of people decide to start flagging perfectly innocent creatures?

Giving the power to gamers never seems to work out much like a vote kick command in a FPS it ends up being abused to get rid of the better players. Or in this case just to be a ass.

I personally don't mind any creature that will be created and will welcome them all... but I do feel sorry for the people who have to see it first and then have to report it and block it from their computer... this game certainly isn't going to be kid friendly because of this as there will be a endless onslaught of those types of creatures.

Reports are monitored by staff, though it may be a problem with where the line goes, also what if this particular creature is shaped in such a way that it cannot be seen from the website if it is inappropiate or not?
I se it was already answered. They do have the staff to monitor reports, but they don't have any crew to look at creatures 24/7, hunting for fallos-worshipers.

Anyone who does that in a game of this nature is a fucking latent homosexual.
Nuff said.
Seriously, you can make any creature you can possibly imagine, and you make a penis? These people are seriously sick in the head.

The available to buy version has all the parts the final game will have. It's the full editor. The free version of the editor only has 25% of the total parts.

ok, great, will have to pick it up, with the 25% available, the kid has made about 50 unique creatures, and is still messing with it ... should be a fun game when released!

that will be the thing, it could turn out to be one of those games where designing your creature ends up being more fun than playing the game. here's hoping though.

Well a staff member on the EA UK forums has posted that the email sent to european buyers about it being available on the 22nd was a mistake.

http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/spore/320300-release-date-eastore.html#post5306797

If you look at the UK EA Store it list the 17th. Sadly it appears that only applies to the EU, because there hasn't been a second email in the US and the US store still list the 18th as the release date. Thanks a lot EA.

Not yet. I would guess they will release it at 20:00 CET, just to tease us.

10 dollars isn't a big deal. I can part with it. I'll just give my US copy to a real life friend who has been wanting it too, so it doesnt go to waste.

The UK D2D link worked fine, price is pretty good as well.

The editor is quite fun so far, will be interesting to see how the actual game is. Smile

EDIT: Paul.dll means that it uses that SecuROM stuff again.
(Even for the editor.)

Congrats you win the identifying small penis award. Although with all the practice you've had I doubt you'd lose anyway.

Yes!! The award is finally mine, I always knew that all those long showers with men in the army weren't in vain, it all makes sense now all that training makes sense.
