Yeah, I finally beat her. I'd hide in that little room with only one way in and let her come to the door and blast her. Then after she loses about a quarter life, she stops coming unless provoked. So I'd tip toe around and notice she like posing like jesus on those paintings so I'd hit her with an rpg, piss her off, she chase me, I'd run back to that room and wait for her to enter the door way.
Pretty good strat for killing her. I think she only injured me twice.
In retrospect, she's not that hard to beat

I'm in the middle of act2 and I am loving this game. Only thing I have found useless are the flashbacks in the cutscenes where you have to repeatedly tap X to see anything, and even then it is just a series of images over huge amounts of noise, each lasting a millisecond each. Am I supposed to put together a clue from that? I haven't played the previous games, so those aren't really helpful at all.

yeah, same here
but when I first was using it I found it to be totally fucked up. there were 2 guys infront of me and I hit the auto aim button and snake spins around and starts shooting at the rocks. like wtf?
they put so much effort and energy and talent into the game you'd think they would have got the auto aim right you know?

The flashbacks are fan service. If you've played the previous games then these images, as fleeting as they are, will evoke memories and perhaps emotions. They also serve as a simple way of earning drebin points. I would have preferred a more substantial flashback, but I suppose they would have had to have remade all the scenes in the new engine and that would have been time consuming. Using the original assets does have a charm of its own - but one only existing fans will appreciate.
AUTO AIM sucks to be sure. Don't use it. Besides the fact you shouldn't be getting into combat, if you are to engage enemies you want to manually aim - and for their fat, juicy heads.

yeah it's awesome..
there's also another thing, in act 4 at the end...
Spoiler: | where you get control of metal gear rex and fight metal gear ray in a huge robot duel. it looks awesome, and you even engage in melee combat and that's just incredible! |
btw, one thing I'm really gonna miss here is a movie theater thingy where I can watch all ingame cinematics. I'd love to watch some of those really awesome cutscenes again and again.
I'm hoping that they'll release that as an update of sorts soon.
anyway, I'm in act 5 now and I really love the game so far, and I'll definitely play through again in a no-alert and no-kill run to unlock the bandana and stealth thingy.
There's also most likely a lot of stuff that I missed the first time through.

I guess that feature would have needed to copy files from Blu-Ray to HDD first, depending on which Act the cut scene is from.

I was going to say they could stream/buffer it off the disc, but I just remembered; it's [mostyl] in-game cutscenes. lol. Epic win! Some of them are fupping amazing.
BTW, just started Act 4. OMG. What a great extra. I know we had something like that in MGS2 with the dream sequence, but this was something else. lol. Thought my PS3 had crashed at first

Its true, try it out. The enemy will be right infront of you about to shoot, you hold down L1 and snake does a 360 and starts aiming at a wall or rock or something.
Since I turned it off, Ive been playing ALOT better. Barely get shot as im the first to shoot usually.
Has anyone got the slit the throat action to work? Ive read the maual 60 times over and followed the instructions but when I try, that stupid stun knife knocks the guy out before i get a chance to grab him.
Thats honestly the gayest feature in the game, a stun knife. I want a real knife so I carve a new mouth on a pmc

Snake will always prefer to use non-lethal force (and so should you ), to slit someones throat equip your regular knife by using a gun like the operator. If you equip the tranq gun he'll probably inject them instead.
I think the aiming at walls thing might be a bug because the setting in the menu regarding how it aims (relative to player or camera) doesnt make a difference with auto-aim on.

so you equip the operator to get a real knife (so you can cut throats?).
Gunna give it a try.
Fuck using non lethal force. I tried it and when the enemy wakes up an alert immediatly goes up. Better off to kill the fucker and hide his body

Ok, anyone have any tips for beating Raging Raven? Cause its fuckin pissing me off. I fill her full of bullets and it barely takes off any life
And I think Im gunna email Knomai about their shitty auto aim. I tried using it on RR because she moves so fast. She's standing right infront of me, no one else is in the room except for me and her, I press L1 to auto aim and snake aims at the fuckin ceiling.
Whoever did the auto aiming for this game should be fired. For the auto aim issue alone, I wouldnt give this game a 10. More like an 8.

It's all in-engine. And imo it is the most needed feature. I don't care if it requires installing whatever data is copied permanently to the hdd. I would like to rewatch every cinematic as I please whenever I please without having to load a game and play through things to get to them again.

all cutscenes are ingame cinematics, there are no pre-rendered scenes in this game just like with all other metal gear solid titles.
and SycoShaman, about raging raven...
Spoiler: | either stay inside and wait for her to come in then use missile launchers, or shoot the other fliers in the area which will cause her to enrage and overheat sooner or later, making her land on a roof for a short time in which you can snipe her head pretty well.

There is definitely some cut-scenes that aren't real-time because you can see the compression artifacts - I should have pointed out that I edited my original post above because I'd never noticed until there was a night scene where it's easy to see if you focus exclusively on the sky. I can see why they'd need to do it in retrospect, without giving anything away, but the key thing here is that you wouldn't notice unless you looked for it. It uses all in-game assets and everything.

Use a couple of those anti tank rockets. Not the javelin but the other one. First kill all the other flying copies of em with the m4 or some other machine gun. After you kill them he will hover in 1 spot then shoot em in the fakking face . And then just repeat.

L0L yeah. I killed all the bosses on the first try (solid normal). I had a bit of trouble with Psycho Mantis though. I just couldnt find his weak spot. I was shooting rpgs and javelins and shit at him but nothing. Then i accidently raped one of his puppets with the m4 . And it was all over for him.
