Yeah, obviously. Feel free to edit your post :D |
well doh, they are still not pre-rendered - they're live action, and not part of the actual game. those small tv segments just appear before the start of the game. and I don't think anyone ever thought those were in-game cinematics. lol

I just started playing this. I have a question about gameplay (I just met Drebin, so sorry if this is explained later on in the game):
Is there any penalty for killing enemies rather than sneaking past them or tranquilizing them?
At least right now it seems easier just to kill everyone and then move on. There is enough ammo, and you can even collect their weapons for points. Just sneaking by gives you nothing...

well, at some point in the game someone tells you (probably drebin) that points you get for weapons is based on the war price in the current region, which fluctuates according to how much fighting there is, so I'd think that fighting a lot will give you less points for your weapons, but that's just a theory.
I don't think there's a real penalty for not sneaking. I think they wanted to give everyone the chance to play the game the way they want to.
You do want the Bandana and stealth camo thingy though, which you get for playing through the game without killing anyone, and without raising any alerts, respectively.

Spoiler: | Anyone else feel that Crying Wolf is the most boring boss ever? What was Hideo thinking when he designed that? The only low-point for me so far in the game.
Except the missing theatre feature of course. |

Spoiler: | when you get control of metal gear rex you can farm the geckos. just stand at one of the points where they come out and keep shooting them with gatling gun, I made 300k drebin points on this, just remember you need around 2minutes to get to the exit.
I did not see that ending coming after the credits, that was pure awesome, who could've foreseen that |

Goddamnit, I thought I finished it when I saw the credits roll so I decided to go brush my teeth and stuff. After a few minutes I heard voices upstairs and saw that
Spoiler: | Big Boss and Zero are at the graveyard and snake is still alive? What happened there? Could someone explain that part please? I saw the rest, beginning with the death of Zero... |

Spoiler: | I actually thought the Crying Wolf boss was one of the best... It was the only one where you had to chase the boss and snipe it, just like "THE END" in MGS3 (well sort of.. "The end" battle is a lot better though). The other bosses, you equip RPG and you are good to go without any real movement... |

I just played this game today and wow it was quite awesome. Some parts of the game are just plain weird but overall it was amazing. I think I might have to save up and buy a PS3 as well just for this game alone.

So I still have 2 weeks of vacation left with nothing to do and was planning to buy a 40gb PS3 tomorrow morning to play this game (which I will borrow from a relative) but Im still skeptical about some things like how long is this game? and also I havent played any of the previous MGS games so will I be completely lost or would I be able to put information together throughout the game

mgs 4 is made of 5% of MGS1 , 25% of MGS2 , 50% of MGS3 and 20% of a new story
so part 3 counts more to the story line - read woman spy love part
part 2 - solidus rebirth from a HANDZ LULZ
part 1 - one remade location , foxdie and well some funny jokes taken from it like save reading , "put into your blue ray disk nr2" and other jokes will making you laugh hard
and i like the Ipod director comments ... it was lulz
