ran into my first bug just now... fuckin assault rifle keeps overheating and then staying in the overheated state so i cant use it until i reload a savegame... which is fucking annoying given what just happened... surrounded by 10 dudes (literally, surrounded.... this wasnt a fire from cover type thing, they were surrounding me and attacking!) - both squad mates dead... and all i had was a shotgun, which i havent been leveling up my skill for... booooooo!!

I had the overheating bug even with the original, legit, uncracked version. But only twice in 40 hours, final boss not counting. Buggy Securom I guess.

Why can't you grasp the fact that it's the game's bug ? Is it so hard to understand that ? Not everything is related to the protection.

Seems like the cracks somehow trigger the bugs more... Most of the bugs experienced by warez users are also happening (to a 1/100000000000000000000 extent ) to legit customers as well (like map error, overheating, crashing, etc).

They've stated that the first downloadable content will probably come out simultaneously with the first patch.
I think they are doing it this way, so that ppl with the pirated edition can't play the new content until a crack for the update comes out, hehehe ...

havent followed this so i dont know if anything about the expansion is known or not, but will the expansion flesh out, or partially continue the main story? or will it just be a couple more side quests, and another planet or two full of useless crap to discover?

Bring down the sky expands a bit about the lore, particularly the Batarians.
(They're mentioned in a few places during the game and there's a concept art picture in the codex if you get their entry.)
Spoiler: |
It's about a mining asteroid on a collision course against a planet, seems it was taken over by Batarians and they used the engine on the asteroid to alter it's course.
Seems it will pop-up in the game either via a announcement or as a update such as you get from various fleets when visiting solar systems, then just land on the asteroid and start killing.

While I enjoyed eden prime, I feel like the AI has gone to shit on the first planet.
i'm in the ice planet and got out to peak 15, and the AI has just collapsed. They stand around, they don't shoot at things, they seemed to have stopped taking cover.
Just now I returned from fixing the fule lines to have a giant black creature attack. I had to take it down with my pistol that I had out because both ashley and the quarian were standing there not shooting at it... meanwhile the quarian was almost mauled to death and poisoned yet again.

Fuck the suicide AI and retarded auto-save system.
Everytime it "loads" it should quickly save the game.
Why save the game just before the final fight with the matriarch, but not after you plod through her dialog, kill her, and her kamikaze guards, then plod through the dialog of the insect thing.
This suicide AI is ridiculous. Run past the other 2 characters and behind the crate where the main character is hiding, taking fire all the way just to shoot at him and die. The AI has nothing to lose, so its a great tactic for it.
after beating the matriarch on the first go, I had to replay this sequence 7 times because of this kind of stupid AI that basically had no problem charging in everyone at once, ignoring the sidekicks and targeting the player. There is shit all you can do about that.
I basically got hosed by the same AI, the creature in the hot lab that kills the scientist decided to rush past the two sidekicks who were well ahead of me, to basically pummel the main character in under 3 seconds flat. His first shot did like 50% toxin damage, then he was basically a 1 hit kill at that point. Which kicked me back for the 7 replays..
games aren't challenging because they're stupid..

Bioware games :
Baldurs Gate II was better than KOTOR ( you get a team of 5, battles are interesting and challenging and the world is much bigger)
KOTOR is better than Mass Effect ( you get a team of 3, battles are somewhat interesting, story is better in KOTOR)
I get an impression that every following game becomes both shorter and dumber.
And I didn't really cared for any characters in ME unlike for those in KOTOR.

game was enjoyable but agonisingly short ... finished the game in about 15 hours (including a fair share of side-quests). Replayed it as a renegade character (ignoring much of the side-quests) and finished it in aprox. 5 hours. Dissapointing, but nevertheless a good game considering the amount of trash that's been released these past months.

wellllll yeah usually your right, but the side missions in this are kinda shallow... i dunno... maybe the witcher spoiled me for all future rpgs or something, because the ones ive played seem to kinda pale in comparison...

Hey, Bioware had to make concessions, because it was originall a console-exclusive game, I don't blame them. Still the PC version turned out great, though I'm still waiting for the patch to really start playing, lolz.

At least that's what they are saying, it's not necessarily the truth.

Is there a known problem with talking to crew on the ship. I talk to them event starts then all chat options vanish and I'm stuck in conversation that never takes place.

Got a great bug assaulting the research facility. When my weapon overheats it no longer cools. All 4 of them are locked.
