I was hoping that CoD 4 would lead the series forwards, not backwards again. They will sell CoD5 solely on the name. Not saying it's going to be shit, but I think most are tired of WW2 shooters right now, considering that there has been a bunch out now especially since CoD was released. Not only that, but there has only been 1 non WW2 CoD, and that was CoD4. But whatever I guess.

Maybe you'll be surprised but a lot of people love war games and especially WW2 games. Wink And as I see it, there hasn't been that many of them. MoH series + CoD series and the BiA series. The others are not even worth mentioning or they have a totally different take on the whole thing (like Wolf or Mortyr). I think there are a lot of shooters set in the future too but how strange, I don't see people complaining about that... There are still battles to show and stories to be told, also new gameplay elements to be implemented or invented (who knows Very Happy), so I wouldn't say the WW2 genre is dead or overdone.

I wasn't whining, I was just saying. Don't like it? Thats ok. You don't have to. Wink

Sorry, I apologize but it's getting really tiresome to read the same stuff on many sites from some people. And I'm just saying that others before you have said this already, over and over again (and will do in the future too... Rolling Eyes ), so it's not necessary to repeat it any more. Wink

Only a few WW2 genre games? Think again

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_World_War_II_video_games

There are also plenty of sci-fi shooters as well, but almost all of them are different, and have different stories, the outcome is different...thats why there aren't as many complaints there. We all know how WW2 ended, no mystery there. Each game just takes you there differently.

I enjoyed playing many WW2 games, and shooters, but in the end, the genre is indeed getting overplayed and boring, and as refrenced here, it isn't just me who feels this way.

I meant first person shooters. I forgot about BF1942, though that was mostly about MP, just like the DoD series. But as I've said the others aren't really worth mentioning and the H&D games were very different too, not really shooters.

As I've said, there's still a lot of potential in this genre, sorry you don't see that. Also CoD and MoH games were very much alike but BiA is a lot different. And there are two games currently in development that will be a lot different from the others too (TPSs) with interesting gameplay. And I'm sure the next BiA game (#4, possibly in the Bulge) will improve the genre even further, Gearbox knows what it's doing.
And again, I ask you: if you are so bored of these WW2 games, why are you posting in their forums? Why don't you look for other games? And as you can see, it isn't me alone either who loves these WW2 FPS. Wink

Since when do you have to like a game to post in a thread about it? If that was the case, not many discussions would arise and the world would be a boring place if everyone got along.

Either way, I am talking the WW2 genre as a whole. It's overplayed and worn out. And I post about it because I can. =)

Screens and artwork. Smile
(Looks very much like CoD 4 but set in a WW2 environment, might be a good game.)

Brother in Arms Hell's Highway. Some previews said there was body dismemberment during explosions. Hardly see such option ever coming to CoD.

System requirements, not that high but it's the CoD 4 engine which is pretty well built.
(Seems to be based on the CoD 2 engine.)

Details about the collectors edition, a few bonus things but mostly multiplayer related.
