im watching a gameplay movie + cinematic movie + screenshots.. click it.
Uh, it shows the enter your births thing, but no way to click continue to actually watch it. Screenshot page and front page shows XML errors. Are we watching the same page or did you pull a magic one outta your ass?

I got the cinematic running after I entered my date of birth.
gameplay video is awesome, manages to feel the same yet be awesome and new and fresh! the ghouls climbing the walls is HELLA cool, and the particle effects look absolutley fantastic.
The Cinematic disappointed me tho.. They ripped off the LOTR movies numerous times in that... Which is a shame because the cinematics in Warcraft III and Diablo 2 were so original and awesome.
Examples:
00:57 secs in looks like a rip off of Minas Tirith in Return of the King
1:18 seconds... looks exactly like the scene where Gandalf and Pippin are looking over to Mordor from the balcony in Minas Tirith in Return of the King
1:28 - Battle of Helms Deep or Pellenor fields.
I'm all for taking inspiration, but to see stuff thats an obvious copy is something else..
It does not look like a PS2 game. This will be the first game I buy in a very long time.
I'm a fan of the series and this game will be an instant buy (wtf i'm not gonna pirate it! Why ? NPiracy is gonna be happy) after what I saw, but really i gotta admit that graphically the game isn't anything incredible : titan quest looked nicer IMO : diablo 3 doesn't seem to have ANY bump mapping just like any PS2 game, but that's just my opinion : I don't really care since I still play Diablo2 these day so obviously i don't care about graphics.
What i wanted to say is it seems the engine they used is less advanced than StarCraft 2 which uses all modern effects like HDR, etc.

i read it's been in development since 2001 !!! no wonders why graphics are PS2 looking (but yeah i know, blizzard's games are all about gameplay !!!)
dude, to compare a ps2 game to this you must have your eyes checked, blizzard games are always polished and for a large audience because of the minimum system specs
and to say it mildly, the game looks and feels spectacular! I am buying it for sure, as I have also Diablo 1 en 2 and all other Blizzard games, they are worth it
obviously you didn't read my post above : i'm not bashing the game at all. Not all PS2 games look bad lol (but maybe that's what you thought when reading my post)... 7 years to polish a game, that is still not out is quite impressive, i have no doubt it's gonna be an instant hit. Since it's coming from Blizzard, i'm pretty sure they spent these 7 years to polish it and not change the 3D engine each year (duke nukem forever anyone) to restart the development process.
Comparing the graphics to a PS2 engine wasn't really a "bash", just a statement.
I still think Metal Gear Solid 3 on the PS2 has nice graphics, even for 2008.
“It’s been in development for a few years. About four.” Wilson (lead dev) admits and of course, when asked the next Big Question: a release date, he gives the typical Blizzard response. “When it’s done.”
Blizzard co-founder Frank Pearce was quick to add that, even after four years, “it’s far too early in development.”
Finally, love rpgs like these. Titan Quest has been feeling the void for quite a while now, hope i can retire it soon. I do agree that judging from the videos TQ looks A BIT better, but still D3 looks awesome. And there is something satisfying about the smacks when he hits the enemies and the blood flys out and you hear that smack. Now lets hope it'll be released soon, a must buy game for me. (So glad that its not a fucking mmo).
Sig too big. -Nothing is too big for Fedor. Expect a nasty armbar.
