Ya, diablo 1,2, warcraft 1,2,3 are not perhaps some of the most important games on the PC of all time or anything. |
Uhm, no. They really are not.
None of the blizzard titles have really been innovative - come on, they even stole borrowed the settings for WarCraft and StarCraft from Games Workshop!
For example, if we didn't have Diablo, we'd still have our action RPG's with clickable interface. They might not be so mainstream and we might've had to wait a little longer for the first one to emerge. You can hardly say that Blizzard created anything new when they made Diablo.
Many of the features we saw in Diablo were around for quite a while already (If in doubt, there are games like The Immortal -- released 1990!), what Blizzard did was making it as simplified as possible so that wider group of gamers found it appealing.
IMHO Blizzard is to gaming industry like MacDonalds is to franchising. Successful - Yes. Influential - Definitely. Major innovator that revolutionized RPG genre? Well... If you think that hamburgers revolutionized restaurant business...
Doesn't stop me from playing their games tho |
Just because a game wasn't innovative, doesn't mean it wasn't one of the most important games on the PC
And if we want to go into "stealing" or "borrowing" like that, games workshop surely wasn't the creator of the fantasy genre
ANYWHO,
The new pic looks like it could be diablo, especially now that it's starting to stray away from the blue. Definitely not arthas or protoss as said.... the smiley is interesting... Maybe a winky smiley implying like, here it is ladies and gents
Amendment... IT COULD BE ARTHAS... the spike in the bottom is much like his shoulder spikes... SIGH

Let's hope for the best. And since it's Blizzard you know it's going to be good.

Found that torrent on mininova.org
http://www.mininova.org/tor/1546735
It's the same tracker from the official Blizzard Downloader, no seeds. Just a bunch of people waiting to leech.

at least i have a life, and you have lots of time to give these remarkable replies |
So... ? What you do in real life must be really stupid if you give idiotic replies like that. |
see! I knew you could come clean (the only thing you havent told is what "job" you have lol), only a twelve year old would give a second useless reply, you could fill a whole thread by yourself
btw back on topic, someone said Diablo3 was in developement since 2001, cannot imagine they are working on it for seven years?? who knows if this is true or not, only an insider could know I guess, hope it comes in a year or sooner |
Since 2004

no I think 2009 christmas, blizzard usually announces a game about 1 to 1.5 years before it comes out, at least that is usually the case
someone in another diablo thread said he read somewhere it was being developed since 2001 but replies said it was since four years indeed
wonder how many hours of playing will go into this one, I played diablo2 to death also on Battlenet, the teamplay killing diablo was most fun

I was the one who told that 2001 thing. I did read that on a well known diablo french site (there : http://diablo3.judgehype.com/ just search for the word 2001) but maybe they were wrong, it seems 2004 is more realistic.
