+1 on both counts. I had to watch the movie a second time trying to figure out where the main character was in the beginning of the movie.

Definitely not as bad a s the people at IMdb made it sound, but something didn't work in the story. Perhaps it was the bad writing... Razz

The Ruins (Unrated) - 8/10

I have been ignoring this movie for a week expecting some typical monster CGI crap. But finally I saw it today and WOW movie turned out to be a sick gore fest FX and there were no hmm... "monsters". Highly recommended, especially if you liked The Descent(it is 10/10 for me).

Is it really almost as good as Descent?? I got the press-dvd yesterday (yay, no need to download Very Happy ) and I was going to watch it tonight Smile

Yep. Although I may be biased as I expected the movie to be uber-crap Smile

Will I watch this movie again ? I highly doubt that. As for The Descent I have watched it twice already and probably will watch it again in a couple of years.

Wanted - 8/10

Should of been called "The hottest you will ever see Angelina Jolie for 90 minutes". Few laughs (the keyboard "FUCK YOU"), amazing action, but boy did they totally ruin the comic.

only 9/10?

I've seen reviews from critics that would rather give their life to positively rate a movie saying that this movie is among the best cinematic achievements of all time, and undoubtely the best american animated movie ever, only rivaled by the top of the tops of Anime.

obviously someone is wrong! so, what is it? is it the critics? or is it you? Very Happy Laughing

Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow 6/10
Crap dialog, but loved the 30s-40s robot designs etc.
I guess it has a typical "matinee" feel to it, like ol Flash Gordon movies
or something, no doubt intentional. And the "bloom" is worse then a bad PC game.

There Will Be Blood - 8/10 - Definitely worth a watch, solid performances from both Daniel Day Lewis & Paul Dano. The whole film felt like a Kubrick film with emphasis on pessism and duality.

l: change the world 6.75/10 (because 7 seems a tad high, and 6.5 is a little too low Wink)

not perfect, pretty slow in parts, but interesting and a good watch... was great to see L again... the actor does such a good job of the role, its sad to know he has to die Sad there are some fuckin hilarious bits in it, mainly whenever ANYONES dying of the virus.. its supposed to be sad and emotional, but every time i saw someone dying, it was hammed up so bad i cracked up laughing. i think some of the characters were seriously underdeveloped, but the story was about L, and since he is the featured role im able to forgive the other less developed characters. death note was definately a much better set of films, but this was a nice way to cap off L's last days.

Wanted - I found the story elements rather dull and boring and meh Razz The guy from night watch is awsum! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Action was sick! Like really really sick. Really creative and really well done. I just didn't really like the story bits. It was like meh, i get the point.... cut to! CUT TO! CUT TO!!! ARRRGH! But yeh Very Happy a decent action flick. Adrenaline filled. FUll of nice shots and scenery and sick style shits and stuffs. 8/10 Very Happy

I also hated the whole curve the bullet thing. The way they did it. It was arrrgh lame! Very Happy But fun fucking action movie!

The happening 4/10. Wish the movie didnt happen. Nothing good about it. So much fuzz about it being rated R that you'd think it'll be gruesome death after death much like Rambo, but there wasnt anything really bad. Every death could very well be in a pg13 movie, and probably some pg13 movies have bigger gore than this shitty movie.
And I really hate that actress who played Mark's wife, started hating her since weeds. It seems like her whole role in the movie was to look past the camera with her big eyes and look concerned.
